alright I have a question on gear for my arcane warrior. This time it isn't the common question about which armor to use I know it's evons+wade's superior heavy gloves and boots. My question is which weapons I should use right now I'm using marics blade and cailans shield but I just beat gaxkang today again on my dw rogue playthrough and fade wall really caught my attention. It looks to me like it was made for AW's with a +2 mana regen bonus and +25 stamina(mana). So I was thinking should I keep the cailans arms set (The wiki says the set bonus is +5 stamina regen) or should I switch to fade wall with another sword? If so which sword would be the best starfang, spellweaver or duncans sword(+4 stamina regen)?
AW gear question

What are you trying to accomplish? tanking, armor caster or melee dps?

i suggest you use cailans arms set. the massive increase of stam regeneration allows you to keep up shimmering shield 90% of the time. also duncans sword is only 2 regeneration in my version of the game.

Before RtO came out, the combo for AW was Fade Wall plus (1H sword, your choice of Starfang or something else.) Since RtO, though...DKJaigen has it right, Cailan's arms is The Right Answer unless you're frantically trying to find a weapon with higher DPS...and even then you can probably do more DPS just by having more mana and casting more spells.

I think I might have a better sword&shield combo than cailans arms that has more mana regen and more great boni.duncan's sword+fade wallI checked the wiki and the set bonus for cailans arms is +5 stamina regen but with my combo you get +2 from fade wall and +4 from duncan's sword which combined makes +6 stamina regen so one more than cailans arms.add to that the other boni you get which are +3 cunning,+3 willpower,+4 damage vs. darkspawn,+3 defense,+20% from all healing effects and +25 manaflagondotcom wrote...

Yes, but that's only on console.
PC gamers should go with Cailan's Arms.

Ok i hate to prove you wrong, but cailens arms is better because yes the set bonus is 5 mana regeneration in combat, but the sword by itself (and or the shield too) gives 1.5 stamina regen, adding for a total of 6.5 regen compared to the ds/fadewall combo. I myself have been researching great combos and the best goes as listed if you only have the dlc return to ostagar.
Cailens Arms - 6.5 Stamina Regen
Evon/Wade Combo - 4 Stamina Regen
Andruils Blessing - 4 Stamina Regen
----------------------------------------------------
Total: 14.5 Regen
Now this doesnt include necklaces or rings or helms from any version or dlc so bare with me.
Another combo would be as listed with DLC RTO
Duncans Sword / Fade Wall
(Duncans Shield, Wardens Shield, etc) - 6 Stamina Regen
Evon/Wade Combo - 4 Stamina Regen
Andruils Blessing - 4 Stamina Regen
----------------------------------------------------
Total: 14 Regen
The best combo for people who dont have any dlc whatsoever
Spellweaver / Fade Wall
(Duncans Shield from Warden Storage) - 4 Stamina Regen
Evon/Wade Combo - 4 Stamina Regen
Andruil's Blessing - 4 Stamina Regen
-------------------------------------------------------
Total: 12 Regen
THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY HELMS, RINGS, OR AMULETS!!! There are a few helmets that restore stamina/mana without any dlc or add-ons but in my case they look wierd. Either use Grey Warden helmet, Executioner Helmet (+25 stamina), Longrunner Cap (.5 - 1 mana regen), or in my case Corruption (which goes well with the overall look and gives a few nice bonuses.
Hope this helpes!

why are some of the equipment i saw have twice the amount of regeneration compared to mine? i am playing the pc version. so if thats the case, what is the best for pc version and if possible, for battlemage as well.

mana/stamina regeneration bonuses in the pc version are half that of the consoles (xbox, ps3) versions. Austinjt96's post summarizes the mana regen needs for an AW well. and tyrannosaur56, AW and battlemage are made to go together, that's the best i can put it at, since it would be topic hijacking to elaborate on another class.
