You should also heal them. but you still open up for in kill one get out healup and then back in and get another one. So maybe you should reset the combat completely by filling the ranks aswell.

a plot character can't get hurt. so it's the same as invulnurability.

ah. well i've decided to just reset the whole combat encounter instead to minimize cheesy tactics.
