Death is meaningless when there's res spells:)
If needed, bio will write in a reverse ritual spell to cure us of the taint. I don't expect that to happen, but just saying.
Something i never knew...until now...possible spoiler inside

I liked it. It just goes to show how much a Grey Warden is willing to sacrifice for the greater good.
But my HN did not even want to be Grey Warden. She was conscripted against her will while she was crying over her dying father. And then told that she;
1. Probably never would be able to have children
2. Would die within 30 years.
But I guess it shows how ruthless the wardens can be.

I'm not sure it shows that really - the problem is that almost nothing of the sacrifices are told to the recruits before they join. Just that joining is dangerous.
I think it only counts as a willing sacrifice if you know about it before making the decision to join.
More than showing what the Grey Warden is willing to sacrifice, I think it shows what the organization of the Grey Wardens is willing to do, or conceal, to keep up it's membership. Not that this would not make the sacrifice a real sacrifice, of course.
It makes it MORE of a sacrifice because if you knew, at least you would be trading a value for a value or at least be able to give "informed consent." In this story, you aren't given a choice; it's drink or die, and you don't know why until you've done it. So perhaps, you are forced to give up something you value highly (an untainted body) for something you don't value as much (saving the world). Now that's a sacrifice; one where they've used a good deal of force to get you to make it. Since Duncan literally holds a sword over you, you can't really call it a choice.
It's the most real of all sacrifices; one where you are forced to give up something you value for something you don't.

uh..NO grey warden knows about this until AFTER they've become one.
so what nonsense are you talking? This isn't something they chose to "sacrifice for the greater good"..they choose to try and become a warden..AFTER becoming one...they're thrown into this.
there's nothing "noble" about this particular part of being a Warden...as, again, none of them know until after they've become one...and at that point they have no choice.

I think I'd try a little less sarcasm, but yes. That is one of the things that makes this game great. The realism. Nobody would "sign up" if they knew the taint could kill them on the spot, will definitely drive them to maddness in 30 years which will make you want to go to the Deep Roads and die, and the "other thing".
Heck - some Wardens don't even join - they are Conscripted. A person can be snatched up and forced to join if Duncan deems it. And if that person refuses? Well that person will be left to die if he/she is in a spot or Duncan will just beat the stuffing out of him/her and carry him/her off to the joining where the recruit gets the "Ser Jory" treatment. Drink this or I stab you.
Grey Wardens as a whole are devoted to protecting people, but the nobility thing stops there. After that, it's each Warden's character that defines him.

I've actually found it strange that although you can drink dragon blood and Avernus' potion during game, modifying your taint, it's never mentioned in the ending.Zy-El wrote...
I know the Warden acquires Blood powers if s/he quaffs Avernus' potion. Does it also slow the death by taint?? I always left Avernus alive so that he could continue his research. Maybe he'll turn up something.
