As a paying customer (DAO, DAO:A, all the downloadable content, and even a shirt from hot topic) I would like someone from Bioware to speak up about the DAO:A disc problem sence, like I said all my other games still work fine so I know its not my system.
I could start another DAO game but i just got done with my third playthrough as the "perfect" character I wanted just so I could see what DAOA would be like as King (or prince consort or whatever) and why would I want to start ANOTHER character that I cant finish the game with?
I've been sad for a couple days sence Awakining wont work (not to mention all the BS from the firmware update)but like a bad break up over time pain starts to fade and im getting ready to trade Dragon Age in for a game that, you know, works.
Bioware, if I cant play Awakining anymore, you completely have the right to go to Sony and demand that they pay you for the customer they caused you to lose.

Deleting the game data utility, disable the network connection on the PS3 and then reinstall both the Origins and Awakening, then get back online and get the patch.
Let me know the result. (I haven't played Awakening yet, however, I bought it already)

No problems with Origins though. "Checking save data" takes about 2-3 seconds.

From what I know is... (if you have a retail DISC)
When you first install dragon age awakening, you need to install a patch for "dragon age origins" (that patch is on the awakening disc which is not the latest ps3 1.02 patch). You then install game data for the awakening.
But it sounds like people have trouble, after they install the latest ps3 1.02 patch first. I am thinking maybe you have to install Awakening's patch before this 1.02 patch for origins.
One solution can be deleting the all the game data utility, disable the network connection on the PS3 and then reinstall both the Origins and Awakening, then get back online and get the latest 1.02 patch for Origins.
I will try this during weekend... I will let you guyz know the result.

Retail Awakening Disc - Deleting both DAO and DAA game data utility, disable the network connection on the PS3 and then reinstall both the Origins and Awakening patch for origins, then get back online and get the latest 1.02 patch for Origins and 1.01 patch for awakening (You need to install DLC back again if you have them in origins). I have done it myself now, it works for me at this moment. Now, i am playing origin again to see if anything happen..
PSN Awakening Version - I don't have psn version, so someone needs to test it and let us know. It may not have any problem.
Peace out.

So, you think somebody is willing to pay $40 to do some testing? The idea is fundamentally wrong.puff_daddy wrote...
I am not quite sure about psn version, because I don't own it. Therefore, someone needs to test it and let us know. PSN version may not have problem at all...

i mean "i am asking someone who already purchased the psn version and willing to give it a try and let us know the result."
From what I know, PSN awakening version is just like another DLC. It shouldn't have any problem from the beginning.

Why? As much as I hated 3.30 firmware situation now I've completed the game twice and actually willing to pay for all DLC, provided they all work appropriately.Gurrock wrote...

The problem is that there is a patch for origins which is in Awakening DICS. You need to install that patch before the recent 1.02 patch, otherwise, when you are playing awakening, you may stuck at Checking save game screen.
This is not a big deal after all.
