In the tent with Tali, in the back there's a locked machine. I think it says Communication Relay or Tower or something. Never played a tech character that far, and I was just wondering what it does/what's in it?

I think it's just a Codex entry. Don't know which one, but there is probably a Codex FAQ somewhere that would tell you.
