Hi, I posted this on another install post from a month ago, thinking it would get bumped, but it didn't, so I'm making a new post.
I've got the AU copy of DAO for PS3. I decided to pick up the Awakenings content off the AU PSN store yesterday. Downloaded it in background. When i went to install it it gets to 14% and then throws an error. "An error occurred during the install operation (80029564)".
I've tried the following things so far:
- Rebooting the PS3
- Redownloading the content
- Installing from another profile
- Downloading while leaving the store up
I've played the original through to completion once, and have several characters. i have a ps3 fat 40gig, i have the stone prisoner and the feast day packs downloaded and installed. I'm patched up to 1.02.
So far i've downloaded it 3 times all with the same results. So i'm $60 and 60 gigs of my monthly quota down and nothing to show for it. Please help!! I'd really like to get it working. If nothing else, does anyone know the process to get a refund for PSN store content?
Thanks,
Polite.

Bump! I'm thinking about deleting my game data files. Can anyone confirm that this wont cause any problems except that it'll have to install, etc again, and i'll have to download my other dlc again.
no one has any other ideas short of formatting?

It's not the region. I made very sure of this because i had been burnt in the past *cough*burnout paradise*cough* I mentioned i had both AU versions above. Also, if it was a region issue it would let me install it, but it just wouldn't show up afterwards. Thanks for the reply though!!
For anyone that is interested, I've finally had success! I finally remembered to download the DLC during my off-peak internet period (I wish the PS3 had a scheduler!!) I just managed to install the pack and booted up the game to test that it worked properly. Interestingly I didn't have to do anything to get it to work.
Here are two possible reasons why I think this might be.
1. The first version i downloaded might have had downloaded incorrectly, and perhaps the subsequent versions I downloaded were cached on my ISP instead of being downloaded again. This is possible, though I think the subsequent versions would have shown up in my internet usage as free data had this been the case (they didn't) i checked and i got hit with 8 gigs of usage from the 4 download attempts.
2. Possibly there was a issue with my hard drive or possible the ps3 file system. A sector that the install didn't like, or possibly the install itself was in a dodgy sector. I've downloaded and installed content from the PSN store since my last attempt, and i've also played other games. This potentially might have gotten past the bad sector. This seems more likely, though it makes me a bit nervous to think i might have bad sectors on my ps3 hard drive. :/
In any case, I have it all working now!! Happy! Though i've bought other games now, and don't really have time to play the add-on. lol. Oh well!
Hope this ends up helping someone.

Fixed mine by wiping my disk with a clean cloth, and then clearing as much hard drive space as I could. Worked perfectly!

i got the same probleme a year ago. i deleted the game file and re instaled awakenings before all the rest. it worked for me. it didn't cause any probleme with my saved data but i have awakenings on disk so i can't say if it will work for you.
