Ah, the complaints on the Super Mario Galaxy 2 GameFAQs forum...

hub world (exploration) removed in favor of more casual map simplistic map??

Exploration in Mario games

I really miss the hub world.

Not enough exploration in MG2? Outrageous! Why, they say that as if MG1 had any actual exploration at all!

Now we shall see if people start complaining that MG2 is for kiddies with no attention span compared to MG1.

They dumbed down the platforming elements.

Knowing Nintendo though, they'd probably censor all the romance scenes.

Bioware already beat them to it...

Besides the whole "Nintendo iz teh kiddy" thing stopped being true last gen when Nintendo & Silicon Knights made Eternal Darkness.  Was never true, because mature people know that sex, profanity, & violence doesn't equal maturity. I'm 24, I still play games like Mario, Pikmin, and even Pokemon, and I'm damn proud of it!

Also, google image Talma from Twilight Princess.

Ok, Mario Galaxy has been getting 10 reviews so now its time for Bioware to step up the gameplay mechanics. Now yes, Mario is a platformer game. It doesn't matter. Metal Gear Solid 4 got a ten. It is an action, story driven game and it got a ten. Bioware you have had two games with Mass Effect to find the balance and you have listened to your players and you are still experimenting with DLC, but its not enough. Mass Effect 3 must be your greatest achievement in game history. You must make the game a perfect 10. Not one of your testers, game designers, graphic artists, producers, marketing managers, not one of these people must not put their souls into the making of this game. EA must put its soul into this game.

Nintendo put everything last resource into Zelda 64: Ocarina of time and they are a giant. Bioware you a great company who makes games which are fun with great stories with different descisions. Now yes you may have a time line and budget. Well, it doesn't matter. This is Mass Effect 3. The find adventure for shepard. Make him be one of the most unforgettable Characters. Become one of the greatest RPG creators of all times. Make square next wish they never set foot on western soil. Show them how awesome a western RPG could be. Give the people a 10 game and don't ever look back.

Who cares?  Only children and women (and by women, i mean women who aren't gamers...don't come after me please) play the Wii.

Or be a man and play the 360 PS3 and the Wii  <_<

Eternal Darkness was awesome.

Nintendo's biggest problem is that anything not titled mario, metroid or zelda is garbage. That's largely been the case for the past 2 console generations. With that said, I'm 27 and the day I stop enjoying the 3 above mentioned series is the day that I stop playing video games entirely.

These game magazines are often written by Japanophiles or people who grew up with Mario and therefore their glasses are tainted in the game's favor. That's why I only rely on Amazon or forums when buying games. ME3 will not get 10/10 in all publications because they are biased.

Mario and Zelda games have always been high quilty. They always get high reviews because they have no glitchs at all and they are fun as hell to play.

Amazon.com and forums aren't filled with Japanophiles or people who grew up playing Mario?

The first Mario was released in America in 1986. Nintendo holds 18 of the Top 20 best selling video-games of all time; most of them are Mario or Pokémon (1998) related. Most people are introduced to video games (Nintendo mainly, since they target a younger age group) with Mario or Pokémon at the age of 5-7 years old.

In order to find people who didn't "grow up playing Mario" or any such Japanese game, you'd have to start with people who were born in the mid-1990s, but are old enough to play more than Nintendo 64, DS, GameCube or Wii games.

Therefore, the age range that you rely on to select your video games is around 10-17 years old, when the average gamer's (and reviewer's) age is around 30.

I haven't played a Mario platform or Pokemon game in a fairly long time, but back in middle school everyone was playing it.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is one of the most legendary - for the lack of a better word - games I've ever played. I've devoted most of my resources to finding a way through the Omega-4 Relay BioWare and Blizzard games in the last few years, though.

Still if Mario is able to pull off a 10 review it doesn't mean its a genre game. It simply means the developers looked at the game and said they needed to improve upon it and if you play the game its really good. I mean damn. A couple of cigs and beers later at a friends house. Woohoo. Anyway, Bioware should put Mass effect 3 on the same pedastal. The reason mass effect might not be as old as mario, or metal gear, but Its old enough now they know its time to put all or nothing into it. Casey Hudson and Christina and the rest of the crew know this as well. No game should just settle for a stupid 9 standard and if it wasn't for those reviews I would be playing mass effect one. The only game I think I played which was under a 5 was dragon ball Z legends. It was one of the worst made dragonball z games made. My friends and I called it dragon ball z gitches, but the game was so much fun and I was such a huge dragon ball z fan. I bought it anyway. To bad they never made a sequel and with major improvements. It was in the best selling lists for game stop for almost 6 months, but most of the times the reviews if done correctly really tell about a game. I honestly think Mass effect 2 should have gotten an 8 mostly for the bad judgement call on a lot of game mechanics. The only reason I kept playing was the soul fact I could bring my character from the first game to the second and see what the consequences of my shepards actions were and I wasn't to happy, but that was until Tali came into play, but I'm stopping there before they get involved with this argument and you all know who I'm talking about. I would say who just on this thread even saying who they are could bring them here and this argument goes to hell.

I got that game for my B-day like 3 years ago and i remember playing it non-stop for a couple weeks until i beaten it.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time got a 10 in the day and the reason for it was because if it wasn't for that game and yes that game besides Mario 64. They would have gone bankrupt and gone out of business. Not many people know this. Nintendo put ever last resource into that zelda game.  They put their soul and yes their soul because they new it had to be great in order for the company to live. Now I know Bioware doesn't need to think that way because they have money and a big company behind they, but still. Mass effect 3 is the end. The final moment in Mass effect history and people like myself have given up time in their lives to play this game. This is why Mass effect three needs to be a 10 no matter what.

I know a game that topped OoT, it's called Majora's Mask.
That said, Mario could kick Shepard's ass.

I'd rather have Bioware make Mass Effect 3 a game for the fans, not for the game critics. I personnally thought all those 10's out 10 Mass Effect 2 got were a bit overrated.

True that, I believed Mass Effect 2 as an 8 as a fan.
