I think you guys focus way too much on romances and do not enjoy the game itself. Which worries me, but I'm no one to judge people's modus vivendi (and this comes from a person who is the biggest Alistair fangirl...)

Awakening is an expansion it's a short nice story happening a bit after the events in DA:O. Some of the decisions you made in the first game are reflected in this expansion. To me it makes a lot of sense that are no romances, again, it's a short story so you can enjoy a bit of Dragon Age until the second game comes out. Nothing else. You shouldn't expect much from it.
I know it sucks when there are nice characters like Anders or Nathaniel or Sigrun that you'd like to romance, but this is not a nice idea. It would make things much more complex for developpers and writers and believe me, they already have to fix a lot of stuff for Dragon Age 2. The story as we know it is already very rich and we interact with a lot of characters. This opens up a whole lot of posible choices that NEED to make sense within the plot if you want them writers to put together a nice story for Dragon Age 2. Because, guess what, every choice, conversation or interaction with another character has its weight and you can't just ignore it.

This said, Awakening is not a single game by itself, it's dependant of DA:O. It has a begining and it has an end. Might serve to understand darkspawn a bit more, restore the Wardens etc. so we are set by the begining of Dragon Age 2.
Perhaps we'll see another expansion or big DLC that serves as bridge between both games.

This is wht i think, I hope it makes sense.

Yes, but when you bring Ander's approval rating up to 100, it says love for crying out loud.

Well technically it isn't because the DAA support says that Awakening is more about focusing on the Mission at hand. In the reviews they also expressed their feelings for no romance.

Romance would've been nice. Heck, I would have loved it if I could have had my girl characters flirt every two minutes with Anders. I mean, my Dalish Warden was upset at the end of Origins because Alistair dumped her (totally my fault--I realize that now), and some flirting with Anders would've helped.

For me, flirting and/or full-blown romances would have extended the length of time it took to play Awakening, thereby making it more epic.
