Is there anything other than ambient light I can set to influence how dark the level is at its darkest? I've set it to pitch black but I can't get it to be any darker than grayish dark. For some reason it works in another level of mine. I can't really see any differing lighting settings.

indoor or outdoor level? in indoor levels you can adjust your ambient light to the color 0,0,0 and there should be nothing left then black space. accidently i placed such an ambient light a while ago :D
don't know if static and baked lights will be rendered without problems with such an ambient light.

dunno if this also works for outdoor levels. there you could also try to set the sunlight to 0,0,0.

have you posted your layout to local? if so delete it from your module's moverride and restart toolset - often lightmaps baked there can conflict with the ones in the toolset I've found...

It seems I had took for granted that it would be completely black since I put the brightness/color slider at the lowest, when it actually had a value of 0,05 or something. I wrote 0,0,0 and now it's completely black.

Thanks :)

For reference, for outdoor levels, you will want to change the Color Multiplier value in your atmosphere settings. That controls how dark your ambient light is, along with part of the color of that light. The actual ambient baked light controls most of the color, but its intensity setting doesn't change anything in outdoor levels. I haven't done an indoor level yet though.
