Miranda is a classic case of "Defrosting the Ice Queen". http://tvtropes.org/...rostingIceQueen

  • Jillian Murray (Liara),
  • Yvonne Strahovski (Miranda Lawson)
  • In his prime Mark Vanderloo (preset Male Commander Shepard)

If you chose a NON human you sir are A BLIGHT ON THE GALAXY. :P

Personally, I think Jillian Murray is way better looking than Liara,  even in Mass Effect 2.

They are the same person...they just changed her color and gave her squid tentacle hair or whatever the hell it is.  Her Maxim shot was hot. :)

Yes, I'm aware of that. I think the post I quoted gave it away.

It could be the hair, the skin tone, or a combination of the two.

I'm going to have to go with Liara here. The combination of naivete and raw intellect along with her dominant shyness are only bolstered by the stark contrast between herself and other Asari. Where most come off as "hot" or "sexy," much represented by their prevalence in jobs like stripping, Liara is more accurately describe as "cute;" the "girl next door... who happens to be a powerful biotic scientist" to the typical Asari "model slash merc" appearance. She also stands out because of the freckles, as well as being the only other Asari besides her mother with eyebrows.

Though admittedly I was a bit put off by her entire appearance in ME2. Before LotSB she just seemed obsessed and disconnected, matched with her newly found ruthlessness and willingness to slaughter those who opposed her. But with the release of LotSB, she really took on a much darker and cynical personality that is nothing like her appearance in ME1. And her willingness to take on the role of Shadowbroker with such little conflict about the idea is also a bit daunting. It almost seems parallel to Aria, one could imagine the battle-hardened Pirate Queen began life with a much lighter personality. Though perhaps it's just her passing from the Maiden stage to the Matron stage. It seems a common trend in the ME universe that by the time they have become Matriarchs, Asari tend to be detached and calculating above all else, lacking almost entirely in compassion or personal life. Aria, Benezia, Samara, and even Aethyta are all depressingly cold when it comes to their world view. Though Aethyta, not nearly to the same degree as the others, seems to at least enjoy her life.

But I digress, sticking with Liara on this one.

Wouldn't that take decades or even centuries to pass from one stage to the next, not just 2 years. Also, its been suggested that matron and maiden stages are social constructs. And, Liara, along with Samara, don't adhere to the same social patterns as most asari.

I honestly don't like any female character in Mass Effect. In ME1 it was Liara, but she turned out to be a b****, I liked Miranda, but she turned out to be a w****, I liked Kasumi but she turned out to be in love with a dead guy, Samara... I am afraid she would kill me and Jack is well... she's Jack.

You.... you couldn't pick up on that from within the first 5 seconds of meeting her? Yes, I'm sure that outfit is totally standard issue for all female Ceberus personnel...

And what about Tali?

Granted you have no idea what she looks like...

Because I like to count down in top 10s:

10. Ashley - I suppose.
9. Miranda - Great skin. Otherwise, I'm not a big fan.
8. Sha'iira - I'm surprised she wasn't more attractive, considering how infatuated her visitors were, but she beats the above.
7. Kelly - Adorable.
6. Jack - A+ facial structure.
5. Shiala - Those markings....
4. Rana - Probably my favorite asari to look at. Shame that she's so peripheral.
3. Kasumi - The first human character I would have felt OK romancing, and I'm denied. Woe is me.
2. Liara - Her naivete, constant surprised inflection, and penciledtattooed-on eyebrows are unfortunate, but she seemed a competent scientist in ME1 and displayed an admirable focus on understanding the Protheans. She also had a fabulous butt, and I usually don't care.
1. Tali - Not only the most intellectual female character around, but one of the few who seem emotionally stable. So far, it hasn't gotten better than Tali. I don't care if she looks like a turian under that mask.

Tali is the most intellectual?

Maybe the most technologically intelligent, but I wouldn't say she's the most intellectual. Liara is far more intelligent with scientific research and finances, Miranda seems generally intelligent in most fields, and Kasumi is a very intelligent thief and strategist.

I think you may just be generalizing by associating intelligence with technological savvy.

Oh, I'm going to add Aria in second place behind Liara for mine... something about that attitude... and the facepaint.

Maybe I misuse the term. When I say ‘intellectual,‘ as opposed to ‘intelligent,’ I'm referring less to knowledge, more to cerebral interests and values. As knowledgeable as Liara may be, Tali just seems sharper, to me. Maybe I'm unduly influenced by their demeanors.

But yes, even so, I am biased toward technological savvy over archeology and economics.

Eh, a lot of people are. Something about tech just has people associate it with the height of knowledge.

Lol.

I just value the natural, cognitive, formal, and applied sciences over the social sciences, I think, so of course Liara's specialties don't turn me on as much. If she were a physicist or a math prodigy, we could talk again.

May also have something to do with my favorite Mass Effect species being the geth.

Really? Hmm...

I've always had a hard time deciding which was my favorite, or if I even had one.

But I think it probably comes down to Turians.

Why hasn't Harkin been mentioned?

"Secrets are like herpes: if you got 'em, you might as well spread 'em around."
That just turns me on, even though an STD is probably the consequence of a relationship with him.

1) Samara.

Sharp-witted, intelligent, physically fit, and knows herself. Unlike Tali, who's occasionally awkward or shy, unlike Liara who pushed herself too hard in ME2 and became what she hated, unlike Miranda who just won't let her father's meddling go... Samara knows how she's going to react, and is upfront about it - thus she sets a precedent that she expects you to be half as intelligent as she is. Supremely self-aware (with a side-effect of cool confidence), intelligence, fitness, and an amazing sprayed-on suit makes her my #1 pick.

2) LotSB Liara T'Soni

In ME1 her naivete and inexperience turned me off, while the intelligence turned me on. Brainy chicks rock, and blue brainy chicks rock harder. Vanilla ME2 showed a perverted sense of herself - becoming the very thing she was fighting against in the first ME. However, LotSB really opened up her character, and with it injected more of the vulnerability and soft-heartedness that she had in ME1. The character development was very interesting to watch unfold, and while I'm not a huge fan of her becoming the Shadow Broker, she's finally taken her first leap to becoming a strong, intelligent, charismatic female companion - as opposed to the intelligent, naieve, "cute" version in ME1.

3) Tali'Zorah

Tali'Zorah's fumbling around the fact that she found Shep raunchy puts her a tad under the "self confidence" bar I like to hold. Liara had the guts to ask Shep out, Tali didn't  - and believe it or not, guys like to be asked out, too. As awkwardly cute as the initial "I like you, do you like me?" conversation was - Tali did score back points when she jumped Shep's bones. Props to living dangerously.

The rest, in no particular order:

4) Jack

Foxy physique, but her instability wasn't attractive; as tear-jerking as it was, though.

5) Aria T'Loak

Now that would be a hell of a challenge. Might even reward you for doing a good job, too.

6) Miranda

Never hit any of my buttons outside of, "Good lord that woman's ass is made out of magic." Too cocky, while paradoxically too insecure. Too much daddy baggage. The type of girl who's probably looking less for a relationship and more for a prize to re-inforce how darn good she is at everything. Not my cup of tea.

I haven't downloaded Kasumi, so no comment there.

5. captain wasea. mostly because i saw this bad ass pin-up of her on deviant art.

4. jedore. i'm surprised nobody mentioned her yet, i mean, who have thought the blue suns had babes like that in their ranks.

3. kasumi. athletic, playful, great body, and a bad ass thief, whats not to like? and to echo the op "flexibility"

2. tali. technical genius, adorably akward demeanor, ALSO a killer body, and knows her way around a shotgun.
come on, you know if saw her walking the opposite way down the same hallway you'd walk straight into a wall.

1.miranda. even though i dont like her personality, damn is that woman fine, sometimes makes it hard to remember
i'm not actually a miri fan.
