I don't know what to say... Or maybe, just maybe, you have evolved so much that you've surpassed conventional comedic standards. If anyone can do it my friend, it's you...[thumbs up emoticon]Celrath wrote...

Lower a tube over it with an Iris like device on top once you have the tube install securely then slide the Iris closed. It would be much easier to lower a tube over the leak then a cup like they tried in the first place.
Was I taking this thread to seriously?
If there was ever a way to stick it to the man this would be it. Of course when that happens they will just get a handout and we will all be paying them back later. Kind of like a loan except better, we don't see any of the money!Busomjack wrote...
I think the government should be given complete control over this cleanup so the disaster can be properly monitored and we can seize all of BP's assets after wars to cover the expense of the clean up and to compensate the families of the people they killed.
Alright for reals. Let's figure this out people. I'm still leaning towards trash but what about an epoxy agent that strengthens when exposed to water? And really glob that stuff on. Though there is no longterm fix without first encasing the site and allowing open air construction which I'd imagine is pretty difficult if I recall Abyss, and that horror movie with Peter Weller. Come on BP! Stop screwing up our ocean!

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Hindsight is 20/20.Busomjack wrote...
It would've been nice if people were having these discussions about how to cap an oil leak on the ocean floor BEFORE the friggin leak happened.

Gee, the ecological damage from the oil leak is bad enough. Like we need to add radioactive fallout to the toxic soup.

Anything BP would never do would probably do the trick.
BP will probably think of a solution. They have subsidized risk management afterall so they don't have to worry about the cost of any clean up operation hurting their profits. No, all that cost will just shift on the taxpayers.
