"Legendary Pictures' Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni have acquired the film rights to the game and will produce the movie along with former Marvel Studios honcho Avi Arad and his son Ari Arad. BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will serve as executive producers, as will Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson. Warner Bros. will distribute the film."

"the producers are in negotiations with screenwriter Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, Thor) about penning the script."

This should be interesting. Glad to hear Ray, Greg, and Casey are on board as executive producers. That should go a long way towards ensuring the film is high-quality, as well as a faithful adaptation.

Well that's terrible. Video game movies are always failures. Honestly I hope it never gets finished and gets cancelled.

Whats the point? - Mass Effect is the most cinematic game i've ever played. I can't really see what a movie will do that's better. I don't think Mass Effec warrants a movie.

Hmm and lets have the movie end with the destruction of the Normandy, that is if they are going to go the route of telling Shep's story. Yes I also know this is never going to happen as well, I can still dream.

I hope ME3 comes out before the movie, so that we get the expenrience the trilogy before it gets ruined by it's cinematographic adaptation.

Yvonne better get some butt implants. Megan Fox as Jack in her little suspenders outfit is probably a good idea. Kanye as Jacob pleaseeeeee. Put Sroka in a Tali bucket and she can do the voice acting flawlessly. Martin Sheen would also be great as TIM.

remember the other Bioware franchise that had an adaptation to another media?

You know
the one where people doubted that the author had spent any time in the same
room with the game, with the horrid ****** erotic fight that came out of nowhere…

 

I just hope
if they try and actually read the source material before they try anything…

Could they make a good movie? Sure, why not. But I'm a pessimist and am going to cry now. If it sucks, I honestly don't think I'll look at ME the same again. :| Movies tend to ruin my image... Of everything.
