Liara trying to find Shepards dead body fits better if she was a LI and for Miri it works on so many levels because it works well with her character dev. I know you are a Tali fan, but you have to look at alot of things. Liara (which I don't wan't, Ash was my LI) and Miri would work better.

That has nothing to do with roamnce, I can alos go on to say that Tali loves Shepard no matter what, that exists in everyone's game, its just how you chose to act upon it

But that doesn't make her roamnce anymore canon than any of the others

As Tali is in the game, she would not be used, full stop.  Summer blockbusters need their bond girls to have a face.

I for one can't wait. Sure, I go in with horrible expectations but this kind of movie could be very, very good. The hardcore fans will whine that every Shepard is different, but honestly, as long as Bioware has an input, I'm sure it will be good. Bioware has cinematic flair in ME already so surely they can make it just as good as a movie.

It would be interesting and might pay off big time (you'd have the backing of the Tali fans for one), but I doubt these losers are going to take that risk

Not worth the risk, there is more non ME fans out there then Tali fans. Sad but true.

Movies don't work like games. Where BioWare has to care about the fanbase while making ME 3, a movie studio does not care at all about a part of the fanbase. Also the more devoted fanbase is a minor part of all gamers. The expected audience of the movie is huge compared to this of a game. And they will try to appease this probable audience by making the movie script as appealing to the mainstream viewer as possible.

Nah, it wouldn't pay off. The vast majority of players (not looking at the BW forums biased microcosm) romanced either Liara, Miranda, or Ashley. It's just a fact. Putting Tali as LI would alienate the majority of the target audience. The mandatory sex scene would be a mess and it would lose millions of potential viewers.

Honestly I think in terms of which LI "fits" with the story best, I'd probably have to say Tali purely for the sake of continuity. She's the only male shep (I'm just going to assume that if they make a movie it's going to be manshep) LI who's part of both games in a significant capacity.

That's assuming the movie will play out exactly like it does in the game. How often could you say movies do?

A troubling thought.

The fact that Tali got such a positive fan reaction should tell the producers something, people do like her character

You all are thinking in terms of the super-dedicated ME fanbase. Sure, on the forums she's been looked upon well, but I am willing to bet that she was below Miranda in terms on ME2 romance and possibly Jack. Expand your vision a bit and it becomes quite clear that Tali would make a poor choice for a movie.

It's just business: a completely covered person who can't remove her suit in most cases is impossible in an industry that requires one sex scene per every PG-13 or higher movie.

No, ME fans like her. That does not mean anything. There is more non-ME fans out there then ME fans. It will not pay off at all.

If it's about Shepard, NO romance interest please. That means no Ashley, no Liara, no Miranda, no Tali, and no Jack.

First of all neither of us can prove who was romanced more but I do know that Tali has widespread support, not just here

Second of all don't presume to lecture me about expanding my vision, Tali was very well recieved by the fans, she would probably be well recieved by audiences too

Exactly. Business stategy would point to either Liara or Miranda. Ashley is too religious and "basic," Jack would freak out the majority of people who haven't played the game, and Tali just doesn't appeal to the average person due to the suit thing.

The movie will be based off of some major event in the ME universe ie. First Contact War. Highly doubt it'll have anything to do with Shepard and his LI's.

/speculation.

Again, can you name one movie in which a suited character has been able to pull as a love interest? I can't.

For Miranda: Pretty much every action movie out there demonstrates that a perfect, beautiful woman does well at the box office.
For Liara: See Avatar and $2.5 billion. 'Nuff said.

Edit: Make that $2.72 billion.

No she would't. Too non ME fans, they would't care. Show non-ME fans a pic of liara, Ash or Miri then show them Tali. They will pick Liara, Ash or mIri. You forget that Tali is only well loved by ME fans, not everyone knows who she is, nor would find her attractive.

I believe what he is trying to say is that the movie has to appeal to a wider audience other than the fans.

There are more non-ME fans, a movie is diffrent then a game, movies don't go for fanbases, they go for the masses, games go for fan bases.
