The movie should be more like the books, as in focusing on other characters and not the main story in ME.

Great news I'm looking forward to it 100% I fully understand the way I play the game will not mesh with the movie but I love Sci Fi and the team they have sounds promising.

I certainly hope this will be from another storyline than the game/Shepard.. Something to get others interested in buying the games without spoiling half of it, something fans could watch without knowing everything that was going to happen.. But as long as they get it right, it wouldn't be the end of the world if they did pick the storyline from the game/Shepard, imo.

Still, there's a lot of room for disaster, and the "games to film" haven't exactly been very succesfull lately.. hope they get it right.

And I think Bioware is in danger of pissing off so many gaming fans in so many different ways here that they may just go three sheets to the wind and not even try to keep that from happening. Just do whatever.

Yvonne might be a big tv star now..but she is not that big in the big movies section...and this movie will be based on something she knows...i can see her appearing in a ME movie

Well if it is based off the plot of the games it will fail horribly as there isn't enough prologue information to get people interested and the actual plot isn't that compelling.



For gamers its different because you are actively participating, but if they choose the plot from either game expect it to be a shallow and boring experience.

I for one hope my favorite character (Liara, if you can't tell) is not in the movie...they've ruined her character enough, IMO. They'll either have her turn into an evil villain, or go all merch-stripper.

Well, as I said in another thread when the topic of a movie adaptation came up, I would totally watch a ME movie if it wasn't directly related to Commander Shepard's story and was directed by Neill Blomkamp.

Unless they plan on rearranging the plot a bit and changing the order of events... hmm...

The movie has as much of a chance of never being made as it does being based about the characters in game. 

You can bet they'll hire a screenwriter who won't give a damn about these characters as IMO as a whole they aren't that interesting.

That, and I'd be concerned if it was live action. We've all grown accustomed to our favorite characters' appearances and voices. To cast someone as Liara (or any of the other characters for that matter) in a live action role would be really jarring for me. So if this movie ever sees the light of day and it turns out to be based on ME1 I'm going to be really, really disappointed.

Yeah, even Ashley and Kaidan...I don't see them casting Kimberly Brooks or Raphael Sbarge to play either of them.  Someone who sounds and looks un-Ashley like or un-Kaidan like would be equally jarring.

The only one that would fit would be the Miranda/Yvonne combo (of course), or....Jack and Megan Fox.  Oh, the horror.
