I would study all religions and views first and then come to a conclusion.

What is your conclusion now?

For now, my Warden believes in the Maker but he doesn't follow the religion because the Maker abandoned his creation twice already.

This is why I wouldn't follow the maker. He's a bit of an ****.

I was thinking joining a dragon cult would be pretty cool actually. You can drink the blood of a dragon and gain powers.

That´s what my PC is about to do once she has slain all those dumbf*cks between her and the ashes.

Well I wouldn't really have a choice to believe in what I wanted if I was a human/elf/dwarf/qunari because I would practically have their respective belief system hammered into me since birth without growing up hearing any outspoken criticism of them.

So have I as child had the Christian belief system hammered in my head, but that didn´t stop me to see it for the annoyance it is and turn away. In fact, my forced knowledge of the Christian faith helped me to dismiss it; otherwise I would probably not have cared enough.

I think most atheists were brought up religiously, but we all had the benefit of a more diversely opinionated land around us, and we didn't have the fear of death put upon us if we denied anything that was told us. Now people in the modern world may be marginalised for the beliefs or lack of belief, but at least it doesn't get them killed. Only eternal suffering in hell! Quite a step up.

I must say though that the story of Andraste and The Maker touched my heart as I've always wondered if we too were abandoned by a higher power after performing too many actions that went against its intentions and sent too many innocent lives to their deaths in the apparent name of the very religion(s) we hold so closely.

Who knows? Fun to theorize.

But yeah, I'd travel the land and form my opinions later. I think it's something that would take a long time to cultivate in the mind especially considering the additional factors like magic, the fade, demons etc.

Probably an atheist much like real life.

Out of the known religions in Thedas, I'd be most inclined towards the Chantry, but I usually play as elves and I don't think I could associate with the Andrastians after the crimes commited during the Exalted Marches etc.

In my real life I am basically an agnostic, but I do study and follow some aspects of Buddhism. But my ideas on religion are for another time and place.

In game I prefer the ways of the Elven Pantheon because of its more natural ideas.

I see the Chantry as too restricting and unyielding. And the Grand Cleric in the Stolen Throne made me want to punch her lights out---it seems that they will accept whatever they think that the Maker has thrown at them blindly.

I do view things as Morrigan does. I do not allow my actions to be determined by a distant god who has abandoned his flock and I do not revere the charred remains of a dead woman.

Religion? None. My Warden is only interested in ensuring the incident with Loghain and the utter unpreparedness of Ferelden against the Blight will never happen again. Until the Maker reaches down from the sky and squeezes the life out of an ogre, there simply is no Maker. If anything, the dwarves have it right, honor your ancestors and follow their example. Never forget their struggles, as you could someday face the same trials (i.e. a Blight).

I don't think the Flying Spaghetti Monster would visit Thedas because there aren't enough pirates.

Reason and logic are my gods no matter what world I'm hypothetically in. So yeah, I'd have to get working on developing small firearms (assuming the Qunari haven't,) ASAP.

I refuse to believe in a religion in which the sole deity accomplishes his wrath via MSG poisoning. If I lived in Thedas, I'd be an arcane warrior/blood mage/battle mage and kill the Maker absolutely everyone so I could score me some hawt Andrastian tail.

Deist.

There's something out there . . . no telling what it is or if it's even a god, but there is something there.

Not yet.

Soon, it'll be called Thedasistan.
