I've noticed that when I've assigned a
shapeshifter a tactic to switch in and out of a particular form, that
they'll carry out the first instruction fine but when it comes to
deactivating that form they won't. Am I missing anything?
This is how my tactics are layed out:
Enemy
rank normal or lower: Activate form (works)
Enemy
nearest: Web (works)
Enemy nearest: Poison
spit (works)
Enemy rank elite or higher: Deactivate form (doesn't work)
What
I'm trying to do is when encountering a normal or lower ranked enemy that the character will shift to whatever form and carry out it's assignments, but when dealing with an elite target or higher the form would be deactivated. Everything works find besides the form being deactivated. What am I doing wrong?
Shapeshifting tactics problem.

As I understand it, when selecting a tactic the AI will always start at the top of the list and go down. So when you meet an Elite monster, the AI skips your first tactic, but if the shapeshifter is already in spider form it'll promptly execute the second tactic.
What you need to do (I think) is move the "Deactivate form" tactic to the first or second slot. It has to be before the "Enemy: any/nearest" options or the AI will almost never get to it.

make the deactivate tactic abouve all the others so it checks that first, if its yes or no and uses it. If no it check to see if it needs to activate yes or no, and then moves on to the attack chain if needed.
