Movies done by Uwe Boll and those that don't stay true to the source material (or a combo of both) don't count.

Name one movie that stays completely faithful to its source.

They changed up some things for A History of Violence, for the better IMO

Also Mortal Kombat is very close to the source material

only POP and Hitman were good Game-Movies ...

ME movie needs much money, Spielberg (!) and 2 or 3 first class (Super-Star) Actors

Hitman was goddamned heresy. 47 showing mercy? That's not even mentioning the fact that they changed the origin of the assassins.

True, but it came awfully close.

And I'm pretty sure Reptile wasn't an actual Reptile.

Mortal Kombat Annihilation?

Right since they are going to make this movie no matter what we say (groan) I would prefer it if they didn't use all Hollywood A-lister actors. Chuck in some unknowns or something, better than recycling actors all the time.

Yeah, except that there will only be one more game which imports the savegames so far: ME3. Mass Effect is based on being YOUR game, YOUR universe, influenced by YOUR choices. Take that away, and you have your run of the mill space shooter.

Don't get me wrong, what is ideal is if the ME universe revolves around your choices and I would prefer it.

However, in reality, you'll have to make a different ME universe for every ME game player.

That's simply not feasible. What's feasible is to make a few ME games revolve around your choices, not the whole ME universe.

I'm talking about the three games involving Shep, not the whole universe.

yes it is the matter of  loyality to the source :|
and Mortal Combat was such a good movie too ...
and For Mass Effect! Tim Robbins as T.I.M and Chuck Noris (or Curt Russel) as Commander Shepard B)

Martin Sheen should play TIM. Mostly because he's just like TIM, plus he already voices him.

Well, if ME2 wasnt enough of an experiment in this, lets now all play "how much dignity does Bioware not have in pursuit of big bucks" and see if they ****** all over the series with a typically crappy movie adaptation.

They already dumbed down ME2 in the extreme, so whats one (or more?) crappy movie going to make a difference?

I hope its an embarrassment, like every transparent attempt to turn video game sales into film viewing sales (so I mean video game movie adaptations) turns out to be.

Ay, first one was ok. The second one is where I draw the line.

TIM... TIM... Should TIM be involved?

No one from the current series should be involved, but they will, because otherwise there will be incredible amounts of whining.

Movie Sheppard will probably be full Paragon, which I don't mind.

The problem is everyones Sheppard is different. I know it's illogical but if they don't use a female Sheppard similar to mine i'll feel disappointed.

Plus theres the romance stuff. Who's the lead romance? Crossing fingers for female Sheppard and Liara. =D

Anyway they do it it's gonna ****** off a lot of people.

Na, it would be Male Shep and Ashley. It's what Hollywood would choose.

-Dead or Alive- hell no
Mortal Kombat -hell yea
Street Fighter- so-so but not a total crap fest.
Alone I the Dark- liked it.
Blood Rayne -hell no
Doom- hell yea

I’ll add in:

Silent Hill- hell yea
Resident Evil- hell yea
Any Pokemon film -hell yea (even if I wont admit to being a fan they are still good)
Wing Commander- so-so
Super Mario Bro.- not bad
House of the Dead -hell no
Tomb Raider (both)- hell yea
Prince of Persia -looks good.
Warcraft - should be good with Sam Raimi directing

Didn’t see Hitman, Postal, Max Payne Dungeon Siege, Far Cry or Legend of Chun Li.

What happens for the ME film will be decided by the fans of the game. If you hate it then it will likely bomb at the theaters and any sequel will go direct to video also bomb. My experience with video game films is it’s a 50/50 chance that it will be good. As long as that idiot Uwe Bow doesn’t come near it it should be decent.

Most of them I meant the whole series, including sequels. Some of them were ok but the sequels were awful.

Now I'm wondering if they will make a sequel of this ME film. Since it might make profit since loads of people know ME they might make a sequel.

Too many games/comic/anime that I love have been irreversably tainted by cheap money grabbing movie adaptation, but as long as they don't reference Shepard or her exploits in any way then i'm not too bothered about them making a Mass Effect movie, i'll either watch it or not depending on how much it cost to make, who directs it, who's in it and wether it actually looks any good.

If Shepard is mentioned though, then I just won't go anywhere near it.  It won't be my Shepard so why should I give a ****?

( And didn't Bioware say that they would never do anything to contradict the fact that it's our own personal Shepard going through the ME series?  So far they havn't been too bad on that front, so maybe there's hope yet. )
