Is there some way to enlarge the access bar under the character?  I am playing awakening and have all these new spells and abilities and no quick access to them during combat.

Hold down on the right edge, and extend it. Beyond that; no clue.....

Okay, either I didn't understand you or it didn't work. I have only 14 slots to enter quick spells and there is a whole lot of space to the right where more could fit. Could you be more specific about how to hold down on the right edge ie: press control and right/left click and drag etc etc

leftclick and drag the right hand border of the action bar, it goes left and right for less or more buttons

You have to unlock the bar to expand it - click on the little lock beside the bar. It's best to lock the bar again after, so you don't drag icons off it accidentally.

Thanks for the help, how ironic that I only got to do this just before I finished the game!
