The downside is that it would make the game easier, but the upside is that it would make character development options much more open.

A game engine that isn't from last gen. Seriously if you look at Mass Effect 2 and DAO it's surprising that they were made by the same company and released a few months apart. I know the engine isn't from last gen but there's no reason for it not to look better.
Better combat animations. I don't like the same 5 or 6 swings repeated all the time.
A normal female run. Not the herp de durp jog.
People moving around the camp, and maybe party banter in the camp.
Longsword skill tree.
Human Commoner origin
Some reaction to you becoming a blood mage.
Better facial animations look at Mass Eff- wait a second

Nope never mind. DAO's facial animations are fine just fine keep them the way they are.

Yes, sir...that's my baby.
Alistair: So you played with Lara Croft i hear.
PC: Yes, many times in fact.
Alistair: Tell me what she was like to play with.
PC: She was great...so quick... so agile...
Alistair (interupting) Not like Morrigan then.
PC: I get this distinct impression you don't like Morrigan much.
Alistair: You're right...i don't...so can you ask her to leave?
PC: I'm sorry Alistair...I need her...we need her.
Alistair:: I can't think why..but it's your decision and i guess i must abide by it...let's go...let's just go.

I agree. I love jumping around...we could jump over those pesky spiders

More different options of weapons (in my case, swords), to me almost all the game weapons looked almost the same. I mean, would it kill to have some different bows (oriental bows, diferent designs, etc...)? With diferent shapes? or Diferent swords, there are so many types and yet, they did only used a few of them.
And more armors too.
The grafics aspects could improve

Well, if they'd implemented this somehow most likely they'd just made it impossible to make Wynne a blood mage.k9medusa wrote...
Yeah, I wish I can see how Wynne will react if she was turned into a blood mage -- little items like these can bring the game to life in a big way

Maybe have the sword/shield characters become paladins.
Spear characters become tanks.
Giant Swords stay as DPS.
Only allow dual wielders as rogues.

I wish a spear/shield character would've been the true tank. I'm tired of having sword/shield characters being tanks because that doesn't even seem all that factual. Why would anyone try to stop 20 arrows with a buckler/kite shield--sounds very stupid. Anyways I want to see a tower shield/spear character become the tanks, and have the sword/shield character serve a different purpose.

Blocking arrows and blocking melee weapons are two totally different things. A large tower shield is great for stopping projectiles, however the sheer size and wieght of it would make blocking fast moving weapons such as swords or daggers a bit more difficult unless the enemy just stood infront of you and intentionally aimed for the center of your shield. Targes and kite shields were used historically in the medieval period, tower shields were mostly phased out except for specialist units like crossbowmen.

If a player's going insane from not being able to pointlessly jump he wasn't sane in the first place.

I love it. Another big heavy weapon fetishist. You make it sound like nobody in the Middle Ages used short swords, daggers, etc. The gladius goes back to Roman times. I agree: only an idiot with a rapier would parry someone attacking with a heavy sword. It's not a parrying weapon. That doesn't mean people, even in the Dark Ages, never wielded short/light weapons.
That's fine, but it's a bit weird the game has a spec emphasizing dueling finesse, but no dueling swords. The bottom line is no duelist ever fought with heavy swords or broad swords. Duelist rogues should have dueling swords that don't require as much STR to wield, maybe DEX instead, and are faster and do less damage. It's fine that rapiers didn't exist until the 16th century. But then neither did "duelists". Bring in one anachronism, you have to bring in another.
Well, the gladius was a short sword used for thrusting (because thrusts more deadly and work better in mass formations), but it doesn't bear a lot of resemblance to the rapier. The rapier was essentially a civilian weapon, in the same way a hunting rifle is a civilian weapon. It's effective and deadly in its own right, but relatively inefficient in larger scale combat. As long as we're bringing in anachronisms, though, can we have trains and guns? Who *doesn't* love steampunk?
Overall, there's very little that I would have liked to see added, though spears would have been neat. I'm more interested in changes. Well, multiplayer, actually, would have been nice. Oh well.

I'd have liked to have seen skill tree's for using a single longsword/axe or what have you. Maybe with different modes where you could switch between a one handed or two handed grip. That would have been awesome. Rapier and appropriate talents for rogues would have also been amazing, mostly so I could pretend to be Inigo Montoya.
Yeah I would have loved to see that as well and I always wondered why they left that option out of the game (well you can wield a 1 handed sword by itself in the game but without a skill set or bonuses to back it up you are just gimping yourself). Hopefully Bioware add a skill set for 1 handed weapons by themself in Dragon Age 2.

So was the coelacanth.
Apparently it wasn't. There's also a big difference between a wild animal being thought extinct, and breeders being unable to keep a domesticated species from dying out.
Don't get me wrong, Griffons are awesome, but I like that they made them extinct as well. It's something I never expected, and it leaves yet another powerful feeling in the player. Bringing Griffons in the game would stop that feeling, in addition to causing a major plothole.
Oh I am sure Bioware could find some way to bring them back, remember the rachni from Mass Effect?

The comparing of a weapon that was used against armored targets in actual warfare such as the gladius to a light piercing weapon that was used almost exclusively in duels agaist lightly armored or even un armored oppenents doesn't make for a strong argument. How would it be implemented into the game? Anybody wearing something heavier than leather would resists every attack.
Raipers were weapons of their time. When people dueled they didn't do it in full suites of mail or plate, so the weapon wasn't made for piercing such heavy armor. To fight an opponent armored in a skin of steel you need a heavy weapon with the ability to crush heavy armor.
Try fighting these guys....www.youtube.com/watch
With this sword...saberandsword.com/images/00-7X54.jpg
And let me know how that works out for you.
Since the blade can only be used for thrusting, it would most likely get caught up in the various holes and foldings of the armor. Or bend...or snap in half...

Anywho Griffen from Berserk used a rapier to fend off Guts's great sword, so CLEARLY this can work in origins~!
