Litany of Adralla

In "The official Crap wished I'd known that sooner thread" we have been discussing the Litany of Adralla. The background is that to my surprise I have discovered that I could use the Litany of Adralla in other fights in the Mage Tower apart from Uldred.

For instance against the Desire demons on the 3rd and 4th floor and the demons in the room right before meeting Cullen. It does massive health damage to the demons making it possible to kill the demons very quickly and thus making these fighs very easy. For maximum effect you'll have to get as close as possible to the demon when using the litany. When I use it, it is classified on the screen as "Unique Item Power".  

However, there seem to be differences between versions. I am on the Xbox 360 and it works perfectly. I've done it several times since discovering it. But when someone else tried to do it on PC, it did not work. So my question is: Has anybody else tried to use the Litany in these other fights? Did it work or not? And what console does it or doesn't it work on? Is it simply a glitch on the Xbox version? (I wish I had recording equipment to illustrate it, but alas I don't.)
