I agree with an earlier post, a movie about the First Contact Wars would be sick.

I will remain a skeptic. While the other movies by Legendary have been passable at worst, I do not suspect that a Mass Effect movie is going to blow my mind.

I know in video game - movie crossovers, voice actors very rarely play the same characters in the film versions because they are not well known and don't have a lot of selling power (for instance, Agent 47 voice actor David Bateson not playing 47 in the Hitman movie, despite having the character modeled after himself.)

However, if the Mass Effect movie uses the same characters as the game, there is no reason some of the voice actors should be replaced. Particularly Liz Sroka as Tali and Brandon Keener as Garrus. Sroka and Keener brought these characters to life, turning them from written ideas to real people: nobody will be able to replicate the characters better than they, and lovers of the game will instantly identify with them instead of new actors. Since they are minor characters and their faces will be either CGIed or heavily make-upped, it isn't important for famous actors to play these roles either. There is really no excuse NOT to cast the original voice actors for these roles.

Additionally, Joker should definitely be played by Seth Green and Anderson should be played by Keith David. Both of these actors are close enough in age and appearance to their characters to be believable, and both are famous enough to sell tickets. Again, no need to replace these two with other actors, as no one will do the characters better than them.

Do I even have to mention the only person qualified to play Miranda if she is a character onscreen?

I think that if they do the movie the should do it with animated characters and maybe use the quick start Shepard so we can see more of the past of Shepard.

I think that somthing cool would be the Blitz.

but somethig cool wold be the first contact war or rachnai wars and krogan rebelions

F that. Nathan, Captain M-F'ing Mal, Fillion as Shepard. I just watched a video of Mark Meer (aka the voice actor for Shepard), and the guy sounds a lot like Nathan Fillion when he's not doing the "Shepard voice". Plus, Mr. Fillion has the square jaw look down pat.

And I'm not just saying that because I have a raging boner for Firefly (okay, I do, but that's beside the point), but because he would be a very, VERY good fit physically and vocally for the part.

You want further proof? Just imagine Tali as the girl in the last 15 seconds of this "Castle" clip: http://www.imdb.com/...lu/vi918357785/

im going to stay neutral on this due to the fact that while im psyced about the idea, past video game-movie efforts have gone down in flames so bad that i couldnt watch them. so i guess ill wait till I see the movie before i pass judgment.

Nathan is rumored to be pulling the part of Henry Pym AKA Ant Man with the Avengers movie.  So I'd rather see him stick with that  and Nathan is going to be over 40 by the time filming would start with Mass Effect. So as much as I love Fillion.  No.

I think I may die. I have waited since the final scene of Mass Effect 1 for the creation of a movie; now there is finally something worth living for!

it'd be cool if it were between the 2nd and 3rd ME, like a story on what happens to Shephard after working with Cerberus or the first contact war..liev schreiber, mark walberg, or gerald butler for possible Shephards..

If they cast Katee Sackhoff or a similar actress as Shepard then I'd go see it. But they won't, so neither will I.

I doubt they'd pick a female to be Shepard, but if they did, I'd love it to be some hot red-head like Christina Hendricks.

I think it should be computerized like Final Fantasy.   Making it an actual movie will probably be all screwed up with the wrong actors/actresses.  Im not sure how they would do all the different species anyway so computerized would be the best way to go or a cartoon movie.

Never watched anything with her but I am familiar with her and those measurements of hers are.... inspiring.

Totally had the same idea.

The movie could fill in the gaps of the First Contact War from the game.  In addition, I do not think the producers will find the money for a gigantic space opera.  (well at least for the first movie)

Too many different types of aliens to animate will probably cost lots of cashola.  I would rather have one race of aliens to look realistic then all of them looking like greenscreen nightmare like the Starwars prequels.

Plus, it would be nice for the average audience to be eased into the universe.  Give them some backstory.

Then maybe, just maybe, let them touch the Mass Effect Trilogy storyline.

In case no one else point it out, the actor in the picture above is Michael Trucco- who is currently playing a recurring roobery detective in Castle alongeside Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic. I agree that Fillion would make a great shephard, firefly hard-on aside, but I'd rather see him in the Avenger's movie. I believe his career will grow to greater heights after he is pitted alongside Robert Downey Jr.(Iron man), Samuel L. Jackson(Nick Fury), Chris Hemsworth(Thor), Captain America(Chris Evans)  and the other actors that will eventually make up that team [which could possibly include the hulk(edward norton), spiderman(toby macguire), wolverine(hugh jackman), hawkman(Jeremy Renner?), Antman(Nathan Fillion?), etc.]

Back on topic, I'd like to see some fresh new talent for shepard. I don't particularly mind whether the character is male or female. It would be great either way. More so however, I'd appreciate more backstory to flesh out the universe. The Contact War would be my first choice, but if they made Revelation into a movie, I wouldn't say no to that one either.

A movie on Mass Effect could be awesome but I say make more than one hell branch it out if the first 1 is a success and you could tell the whole focusing on different characters in the movie. Like X-Men Origins Wolverine, they told his story seperately there's no reason you guys can't do the same with Mass Effect. Hell look at Avatar if you use the same effects and technology they used in that movie. The ME movie or movies will be a smash hit. Don't let the fans down.

a movie about first contact war or krogan rebellions would be ruining the franchises name, you guys are freaking me out, and dont give me that bull **** about doing a trilogy would ruin your gaming experience, cause if you hurts you, pop in the disc and play the game, there, now quit ****ing, were clearly going to see shepard and friends not some star wars rip off slash independence day cause thats what it would be and it wouldnt be shocking or fun to watch, Now the collectors and reapers that would be fun but nope, you would rather watch a stupid thing no one realy cares about, **** i can read the entire story of first contact war in a short paragraph

I have yet to see just one movie based on a game that didn't totally suck.

Also, what's the point? Why would I want to sit there totally passive for 90+ minutes and watch a fixed and predetermined ending when I can control the main character myself in the game, have 40+ hours and can take influence on the outcome? Why would I bother with the movie? Personally, I wouldn't.

Remember all the movies based on games? Doom. D&D. Hitman (  ) And many, many others. They were all rubbish. Of course. A movie is a totally inadequate media for this kind of entertainment.

Rather make more Mass Effect games.

Or at least do it only in CGI, like the FF movies. That way the original voice actors can remain and it won't kill the immersion as bad as overrated and untalented Hollyweird nutjobs.
