I'm not really all that enthused about having a ME movie, mostly because I know they'll make the predictable choice and have Shepard be male. Even so, it'll suck because we already have voices for the characters! I could see someone like Sigourney Weaver playing Chakwas, but she wouldn't sound like Chakwas. Same for if they took the long-shot route and had a femShep- she wouldn't sound right if it wasn't Jennifer Hale's voice. This can be avoided in a few cases- in amovie, Seth Green would be Joker- there's no getting around it, but it's generally going to be a disappointing movie, and a bad deal.



Unless the go the final fantasy movie route, and have all the characters be really well done CG, of course.

Your just going to give yourself a headache. Trust me I know. I've been trying to say the same thing for over the 100 some pages of this thing myself. Its obvious people arent reading most of the thread (though I cant blame them to some degree as large as it is now) and just posting their random first thought.  People will believe what they want to believe and ignore anything thats said that contradicts it.

If they follow Shepard's story (basically the story of saving the galaxy) a male Shepard will probably be canon because that's how Shepard has been depicted in all the commercials and promos. Hell, male Shepard is on the front of the case.



I think a great intro to the story would be the discovery of the Prothean ruins on Mars, and then a time lapse that goes into the First Contact war. (I dunno how far apart the two are.)



Then another with the Rachni Wars or the Krogan Rebellion? And put easter eggs in there for some of the people you meet. Like that asari bartender on Illium. (mother was asari, father was krogan)



And then to introduce Shepard's story (if they do) they start with the childhood -time lapse- Alliance recruitment -time lapse- Skyllian Blitz



I'm in full support of having Miranda come into the film series too. (hopefully it'll be more than one film) Yvonne Strahovski is Miranda Lawson's voice and face. Hot.



So yea. There's my opinion. haha.

There should be more than just one movie. For every game, single movie.

I support the idea for Yvonne Strahovski for role of Miranda. Naturally Seth Green for Joker.

I'm not sure about Krogan rebelions and Rachni, 'cos it's secondary part of story (i'd put it only in some dialogues).

Probably would be best to put there people which had roles in game, but that's not going to happen.

We can all speculate, but we'll just have to see... I like the idea of the first contact war, or Shepard's past. If they use ME1 and ME2's story it won't work, let's leave that to the game developers aye?

Lets hope they don't follow the recipe of failure that the majority of Video Game-based Movies have been following.

here what i would do if i was in contorl. I would make it into a tv series that would cover the first contact war then move forward to the skyllian blitz and finally the first game and add the first book and on atop of that you could add more inner action between the characters. and the inner action with shepard and saren. for one to make people thank that shepard might be going insane and start thanking that saren is right to work with the reapers so that we could survive or twisted it so you thank that saren is trying to stop the reapers in his own way. at the end of season one comes to the end you have a two hour season final that would lead into season two that takes place two years later but before you do that you add the comic books mini series that inelova dr.liara t'soni trying to recover sheper's dead body from the collectors (if any of you had read that series you know how it ended) from there you could pickup from there and lead it into the sceand book that would lead into the sceand game for season two then by the end of season two you add the third book (i'm pretty sure there will be a third book before the final game) and then finally the mass effect 3 after that you could add what happens the events of the epic saga. now for the actors my opinet (not sure if that i spelled that right) is them have to be unknown actors but seth green will have to play joker but from there you have to find actors that are trying to break in the busines.

to add what i said a minute ago why don't bioware ask us the gaming commutiy what ideal should the movie should follow and what choies you made in the first and the secand game then take from what we inputted of what we tell what we had to do.

 Don't take this as me trying to be Debbie Downer but I wouldn't get to enthusiastic about Legendary Pictures' involvement but rather the specific people behind on the movie. Christopher Nolan and his team made the Dark Knight good not the Legendary executives. In most cases the studio is looking to take the short route. New Line Cinema frequently fought with Peter Jackson on LOTR and he got his way and those were incredible feats of movie-making. So I suppose the most important thing right now would be to wait until a screenwriter(s) or director is announced. Until then I'll be worried. 

And if it did happen to be based on Shepard's adventures it would feel extremely weird if like huge A-list actors took up a lot of the roles. They're just so big it throws you out of the movie. There's probably quite a few little known actors that could do fantastically. Martin Sheen is a famous actor but no way could you argue that he's on the popularity list with Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise so his inclusion isn't distracting. So, just to regurgitate what everyone else is saying: need to be careful about casting.

The funniest thing is that I'm having a hard time picturing how it'd be structured. Particularly how you would integrate the character development of your party.... shepard can't just go back to the Normandy and chat them up it just doesn't work on film. you would need to make all the party members essential to the plot in some form or another. In many cases in the game a party member is useful up to a point then they're just an extra gun. (Did Garrus *really* **HAVE** to come along with you in ME1). Once you leave the citadel for the first time if you can go the rest of the game without using someone then they're not essential to the story beyond their introduction which is fine for games and death for movies. 

Note: most of what I've said is pointless if they do decide to venture from shepard but my gut tells me they won't.

I am psyched about the possibilities this movie has. I don't care if they follow the plot of the games or pick another facet I just think there is so much depth to mass effect that it will be great regardless.



As for whoever said Jessica Alba for Miranda... No Frikkin Way!. I will not deny that she is hot, but unless you are blinded by her hotness, her acting ability sucks and would be a disservice to this franchise. Considering Miranda is voiced by the star of the show "Chuck", I say have her dye her hair and I'd be good with that.

I still say sam worthington would make a good male shepard due to how in the trailers and such for ME and ME2 they are based of renegade actions and his wild card personality would so renegade and paragon in my view; that and he hasnt failed me in a good movie I've seen yet
