You can only customize his appearance if you want to.
Some people here are already seem sure that the story choices are an obstacle for the film makers. Not really? Once the story is made up of the main segments:
'spoiler alert'
Attack on Eden Prime, Recruiting Garrus/Wrex/Tali at the Citadel,
Liara recruitment and search for Benezia,
Death of Wrex (lets hope his death is more honorable in the movie)
Assault on Saran's cloning facility, (death of Alenko and/or Ashleigh)
Anderson's help back on the Citadel,
Ilos (meeting vigil, finding conduit),
and finally..
the last act (Attack on the citadel)
Everyone's story took this rout, so stop complaining.

A movie adaption you say...All fireworks and fastforward thru the get-to-know-and-like-the-characters. All in favor of the old Hollywood mantra: keep the pace going. Sorry for the neg input but i'm cringing right now.
Sadly that's my view as well. The events of the game simply do not transition into a movie. But they'll do it anyway because that's Hollywood's plan. So retarded.

THEY'RE MAKING A FRICKIN LIVE-ACTION FILM ON THE SMURFS! THE SMURFS! WHAT THE ****?!?!
Anyway, even though this is clearly off topic, it's being released next August - not this August -and I just felt like saying that there are movies being remade off the 80s animated shows and video games that sound like it will suck. This is one of them. I sincerely doubt that the ME movie will NOT be as worse as making a Smurfs movie.

Completely the opposite is actually true.
The events of the game port to a moive far more than most any other game out there. ME as a game is very movie-like. Which makes it perfect for the adaptation.

His role in Mass Effect 2 isn't big enough.
Infact he's only in side a quest.. which means he wouldn't make an appearence in a Mass Effect 2 movie at all..

I wonder how you know so many details about a script you never seen before... a script that's not even written yet. Truly amazing.

Uh, haha...I wish I did work with them. I was giving my point of view about the ME movie being animated. And when I said that it "will never happen", I was only saying that because the producers and writer had recently planned for a live-action ME film to happen. That doesn't mean an animated ME movie is out of the picture. There may be one, but not when a live-action film on ME is going to possibly come in 2012 or so. If (and only IF) the ME movie fails, then they would be following in the footsteps of Halo: Legends.cruz29 wrote...

The list with the actors is great but some choices are IMO very strange.
Some examples:
Jane Shepard:
Jennifer Aniston - I think Jennifer Aniston would not fit into the action orientated role of Shepard. She is a good actress but not a action hero. She is more the romantic/comedy type.
Whoopie Goldeberg - wy too old for Shepard.
Kaidan:
Steven Segal - same problem as Whoopi Goldberg. Way too old for that role.
These choices are indeed very strange. Maybe somebody was trying to be funny. lol Whoopi Goldberg? Yeah that's funny. Just leave the damn thing ANIMATED please so the characters are themselves for Christ Sakes.
1. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
2. They've already started producing a live-action film on ME.
I would not want to see an animated ME movie like Halo has done in the past because the Halo live-action film coudn't be made. It will NOT go down that road.
Anyone think Mass Effect should go animated or live-action, whether it's about shepard or not?
Oh, you must work with them or something? Please, tell us more. lol Yes, if anything I think that it should be animated like Final Fantasy so there are no changes to the characters. Just my opinon anyway. If it's an actual movie, so many people are going to complain about who played who and especially if the voices are different. The debate has already started.
IF they were making an animated movie on ME later, my suggestions would be Mass Effect - Revelation, Ascension, Galaxy, Redemption, and (coming soon on July 27th) Retribution. You could do a story about that individually or, like Halo Legends has done, make 5 different and short animated films, ranging around 20 minutes. Interested?![]()
Haha, you have a good point.

I hate to agree, what was the last movie based on game that you like? i cant remember a single one, i hope they brake the trend with this movie. BUT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THEY DONT TRY TO CRAMP EVERYTHING IN ONE FILM IT WONT WORK AND MOST LIKELY SUCK!

start right before they find the ruins on mars, and go from there, at some point, a small insight into how "cerberus" started might be good, and ofcourse, MORE AWESOMENESS!!! XD

People are going to argue who can play Shepard because who ever it is, it won't be their Shepard. The movie is going to portray bioware's Shepard. the one one the cover.
I don't mind the shepard on the cover, in fact, if they could find an actor that looks like that, i'd be perfectly happy.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Verner yet, but still. Wouldn't it be hilarious to have a Conrad Verner scene and maybe an elevator scene. Kind of like the inside joke to all us fans? And just maybe throw in an Al-Jilani (the annoying reporter)?
Btw, a KotOR movie would be awesome. Please, Lucas?
Thoughts?
