I like the idea of the movie, 100% on board, but I don't think first contact war would work, considering it lasted less than two months.


I don't care what they do, but Shepherd shouldn't be in it and it must begin on Omega.

Matthew Fox as John Shepard? Please no!
If this movie happens, it needs someone who can be cool, calculated, baddass, sympathetic or arrogant, heroic,  convincing, etc... so it needs someone who can act.
Someone like Eric Bana, Gerald Butler or Bradley Cooper perhaps.
And definetly not a ****** poor actor like Mathew Fox whom is utterly uninteresting.
Anyway the movie would turn out to be crap probably.
Unless bioware is involved and not some commercial directer from hollywood.
One can only hope.

This should be interesting. Though I'll withhold judgement until I see the list of cast members... It'll be pretty obvious then if the movie will be any good or not.

I think Matthew Fox would portray an Alliance Marine very skillfully.

I don't know who made or edited this poster but it looks nice! Matthew Fox as Commander Shepard!
I don't know why some people think he has bad acting skills, I have seen all the LOST episodes and I think he is a really good actor and can pull off the Shepard Soldier act for sure. I mean come on people, look at the poster! You have to be crazy not to think that he can't play Commander Shepard for the movie.

Of coarse it will be about Shepard, If it's not i'll be pissed, he's the best god damn protagonist ever.
Matthew Fox would be perfect too, he almost looks TOO much like him.

Anyway, if this is executed right. It could prove to be the beginning of something marvelous..

Even if the movie doesn't involve Shepard, it should involve some of the fan-favorite characters on his/her squad and show major points of interest in the universe, like the Citadel and Omega. I personally would like to see the movie follow the events of the first game, but as long as Legendary and BioWare can pull something good together, I'll be pleased.

Hopefully the non human roles such as Tali, Wrex, Grunt, Garrus, Mordin etc, if used, that would either be CGI or heavily made up be offered to the game actors since they are the voices we know.

I agree with the above user - CGI the aliens and get the voice actors to voice them. I also say use live actors for the human characters, similar to "Avatar." Just actually make a good STORY for the Mass Effect movie (unlike Avatar), avoid the "humans are bastards" and "nature rules" messages that sunk Avatar (for me, at any rate), but keep Avatar's amazing visuals, and we should have a good movie.

No it won't have Shepard and yes, it will break the original triology. The point of Mass Effect is creating your own character and your own story. What do you suppose happens when the movie basicly tells you to **** off and shoves it's own story down your throat. It is much better to make something completely unrelated to the gaming franchise of Mass Effect.

I really don't understand the hand-wringing about the movie potentially following the story of ME1... I mean, all that would mean is that it's like a movie version of someone else's playthrough... It doesn't make your playthrough wrong, it just means yours wasn't made into a movie. Why is that the end of the world, or at least the end of Mass Effect?

The Mass Effect universe has so much room for different ideas and stories that immediately assuming this movie must focus on Shepard during the games' time period seems a bit premature.

And, as phoenixds24 said, even if the movie does follow Shepard's in-game story, it won't negate a player's Shepard story.  My playing a renegade play-through does not make my paragon play-through invalid.  I seriously doubt that as the Mass Effect movie credit roll there will be a voice-over saying, "THIS IS THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE VERSION OF THE STORY; ALL THE CHARACTERS YOU CREATED ARE WRONG; YOU FAIL; S*CK ON THAT!"

Give them a chance!

Hello, everyone. Happy 1st day of summer.
Less than a month ago, it was announced that Legendary Pictures (Dark Knight, Watchmen, 300, Hangover), Avi Arad (the executive producer of Iron Man, X-Men, & Spider-Man), and even Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuck, and Casey Hudson (from Bioware) joined together to create the ME movie on the big screen. For almost the first month, everyone speculated on which actor/actress should be this specific character, regardless of the movie having Mass Effect 2 characters or making fun of specific actors being other roles, as well as whether the movie should follow Shepard's important role against the Reapers or throw entirely new ideas, such as Capt. Anderson's journey into trying to become the first Spectre, First Contact War, Battle of Shanxi, Skyllian Blitz, and more.

18 days ago, I compiled all the actors and actresses that everyone addressed for major roles and non-major roles on this website into the list. The list is the movie cast for ME 1 and ME 2. For those who never seen or heard, the list tells of all the actors and actresses that were told on this website to be great for an ME character, despite the insanity. For those who don't want to keep searching for the right actor on multiple websites and videos, fear not, for the list also makes it easier for you. In addition, there's is a different list in which one talked of, consisting of a cast following the First Contact War/Skyllian Blitz. In addition to that, I have also made the REFINED list. The REFINED list will have significant changes from the list, showing either 10-25 of the better actors/actresses for the ME characters or show 1 specific actor destined to play the role (ex. Seth Green as Joker  ). Some had complained about the list, saying it was "insane" and "ridiculous" for having some actors not entirely fitting some characters age, physique, or whether a VA (voice actor) should be used. Most; however, approved. 

For those who have waited for these lists to come and have approved on the list from before, I thank you. The wait will soon be over. There will be a span of these lists, starting in 3 days - exactly a month after the ME movie was announced. I will show one list every day. I have four lists (as shown above). I will show the lists in this order:
the list (part 1 - all ME 1 roles)
the list (part 2 - all ME 2 roles)
a different list
the REFINED list

Once the four lists have been released, I will combine the first three lists together. Maybe I'll even add something else to the table. But beware - the list will be longer, more insane than the list I created 18 days ago, and possibly humorous. So, the first of the month-long anticipiated list of the ME characters will be shown to everyone on June 24th.
