If it was based on Shepard's story, I would have it:

-Shepard goes to Eden Prime. Jenkins dies, Ashley joins etc. They learn of Saren. The Normandy goes to the Citadel
-Shepard meets Garrus and Tali on the Citadel. Tali tells them about the evidence, they bring the evidence to the Council etc.
-The Council tells Shepard that there have been geth sightings on Feros and on there, they meet Wrex and he joins them.
-The Council tells Shepard about Virmire and the team goes there.
-The find Benezia there who has kidnapped her daughter, Liara to be indoctrinated and help her and Saren.
-Shepard's team and Liara kill Benezia, but before she dies, she tells them to go to Illos because the Conduit is there! Shepard's team blow up the base, but Kaidan and the Salarian STG team die on Virmire.
-Shepard romances Ashley.
-The team goes to Illos and discover the Conduit. His team fights the Geth and Saren "redeems himself" with suicide. The team decides to blow up The Conduit never finding out it's true purpose

How can they do a movie based on Shepard? As suddenly everyone's Shepard's would be wrong. I do always like to be proved wrong and get fangirl squeals when anything mass effect comes about, so we shall see.

What if you could import your save and Shepard in the movie would make the choises you did in the game.

Personally I think this time Commander Shepard should be a woman and why not?! Milla Jovavich should play the part of Shepard. Err for the movie that is.

If I were making a Me movie, I would drop all location that aren't needed.

Thorian? unneccesary

Liara and Benezia plots can be put on the same planet. Group rreaches Liara and splits, as team1 goes after the feeling Benezia, and team2 works on getting Liara out. They re-group, compare data and move on to Citadel->Ilos

Heres a good reason. Because Commander JOHN Shepard is a man..
If your someone who creates your own Shepard, as a female, or whatever, .. well.. that sucks.

  ACT I

opening 20 mins:

  • Aboard the Normandy,
  • Transmition from Eden Prime,
  • Attack on Eden Prime,
  • Death of Jenkins,
  • Introduce Ashley (and Geth),
  • Death Of Nilus/Sarans appearence,
  • Uncovering Becon.. John Shepard's vision...

next 20/25 mins:

  • Shep wakes up-talks with anderson,
  • Go to citidel,
  • Council side with Saran due to lack of proof,
  • Introduce Tali - Introduce Garrus - Introduce Wrex, Tali's proof for council puts Saran on the run.

ACT II

next 60 mins:
Upon some direct character development taking place aboard Normandy - Crew split two ways
Introduce Sub plot-'Therum'
  • Normandy (after arriving and departing from Noveria leaving Shep, Garrus, Wrex and Kaidin ), travels to Therum with Joker, Ashley, Tali in character focus.
Introduce Main plot-'Noveria'
  • John Shepard, Wrex, Garrus and Kaiden in character focus while on Noveria
Re-Inroduce Sub plot-'Therum'
  • Ashley and crew uncover Liara in ruins.
  • Liara explains.
Re-Inroduce Main plot-Noveria
  • Shep and crew (at Noveria Port) find out info about Benezia and Peak 15.
  • They encounter Geth, they begin to deal with Rahni and Peak 15 crisis)
  • Shep Crew and Ashley Crew interweave at some sort of meeting point before Benezia confronation(including Liara)
  • Sencond act concludes with Benezia showdown

ACT III

next 30 mins
  • Council intervene, instruct distress signal from Virmire to be dealt with.
  • Normandy goes to Virmire,
  • Crew meet Captain Kirrahe-learn of Saran's cloning Facility-Initiate attack on it with Salerians
  • After some battle sequences-Shepard confrontation with Sovereign.
  • Normandy drops off Nuke-Shep leaves to save Ash
  • Shepard and Saran confrontation
  • Heroic Kaidin dies in the nuke blast as Normandy whisks away.

Side not: Wrex's death will probably be dealt with in a different way as his death is focused on the flexibility of 'convincing' and 'threatening' aspects of the game play, and this is not a factor here. He will surely die though.. as this will pull at our heart strings.

next 20 mins

  • Return to Citidel - Normandy lockdown - Anderson heroics
  • Destination Ilos - Shepard/Williams romantics
  • Legendary drop off on Ilos
  • Chase Saran - Meet vigil
  • Vigil reveals all
last 20 mins
  • Rush to the Conduit
  • Citidel Destruction sequence
  • Saran and Shepard confrontation
Sovereign destruction (By Joker, can not WAIT to see that)
Epic ending

And that concludes what could be an amazing movie, around 2 and half / 3 hours long.

I don't have any additional comments really apart from the un-necessary plot holes such as visiting Feros. This mission is not essential in forwarding the plot apart from one minor section when Shiala clears up Shepard's vision via asari powers/biotics. This can easily be filled.

Whats peoples thoughts?

Let's just face it people, the movie will have Commander John Shepard in it. And for the people complaining that it will mess up your custom Shepard story, please explain to me how this will mess your story and gaming experience? I just don't get how some people think.

I asked that same question over 100 pages back as well and I still don't get it.

The default Shep was based on and voiced by a model no? Why not use him?

Mark Meer, he's not a great actor. or at least he's never acted in anything Major. Matthew Fox is fine.

I agree with the dude above claiming full CGI would work. But live action/CGI would work just as well too.

Mark Vanderloo. That's the model. Meer is the voice actor.

[*]If Act III was to be 70-80 minutes long, with Wrex's death (as you say) being only 2 - 5 of the 70 - 80 minutes, that would be perfect for a 3 hr movie (40+60+80 min.)

I do have some suggestions. If you believe that Feros is an unimportant mission that can be easily filled, could Feros be made the first mission in Act II for 5 - 10 minutes of the 60 minutes? Also, what Shepard & Liara romance? It may be better for the movie to have Shepard and Ashley romance, but come on, who wouldn't like Shepard & Liara love?

To be honest a movie based ON one of the games wouldn't play out very good, because everyone would compare them to their own personal game experience. if it was base between the games or before/after then that would be fine (if you really wanted a bunch of the game characters in it). but if it was exactly based on a game they would need to skip a lot of pointless running around traveling and tasks that you needed to do to lead up to the final boss on each planet, and thats something people wouldnt like they would complain (oh they didnt do this, but in the game we had to go here)
so i feel the best way to go would be after ME 1 or after ME2 if they wanted the game characters in the movie, and just assume that most of them survived (besides kaiden no should take kaiden over ashley lol)

Hey, buddy. I was the one who said that, not NeonCapital.

Furthermore, you don't have much choice into the storyline for the ME movie and neither do I. If the producers were working on this movie for the past month, they are NOT going to create a live-action film from a comic book perspective of Revelation or Ascension or Galaxy or Redemption or Retribution when they already have rights to team up with Legendary Pictures and Avi Arad (Marvel executive producer). Besides, if they were to make the movie on any one of those 5 comic shorts, the general public is not going to have a clue of what it even is and what it represents - other than it looks like a sy-fy movie (as harsh as it sounds). Only those who have heard or seen or played the ME games or even read the ME comics are going to truly understand the movie. Were lucky enough to even have an ME movie based on the games' positive reviews. SO if you don't like the way the producers are going to create it, suck it up.

All right. I apologize.

Let's say they did make a novel to film. Which one do you think they should do?

I guess what ever one got higher reviews. or sold more copies. but personally I'de go with Revalation. which is about Saren and Anderson, about their history together. But if they really wanted shepard in it the next novel that comes out soon bridges the gap between ME2 and ME3 so ide assume thats about shepard.

Revelation would be a great one to do.
What about Paul Grayson - the drug addict that has to raise an autistic biotic child that works for the illusive man, ends up being defeated by the Illusive Man, and assumingly becomes a test subject for Cerberus to learn more about the Reapers? He's in Ascension and Retribution...maybe instead of making a live film for those two novels, why not combine them and make it animated and show Paul Grayson's harsh life?

Anyways, since today is officially a month since the announcement of a live-action film of Mass Effect, the first part of the list has been finished. It contains all of the characters in ME 1. For those who haven't seen the list yet (shown below), it addresses the actors and actresses that were chosen to play a role in ME on this website to benefit everyone so that no one has to look for which actor/actress should be which. However, the list that has been revised since the list on pg. 101 has doubled the amount of characters and actors (voice actors included), making the list incredibly extensively and ridiculously insane. Here is the list of the whole ME cast:

None of these particularly peak my interest for John (and the thought of a few of them gives me a bad taste in my mouth)... Though technically Shep can look like anyone I would prefer they stick as close to the default as pos. My pick would be Henry Cavill. When I saw him in Tudors my first thought was if they made a ME movie he's got to be Shepard.

I'm kind of hoping the film is a prequel to ME1. I feel that's the best way to incorporate Shep without ruining the 'choice' aspect of the game.
