I think a lot of us would like to see the movie with two different Shepards, but that's not going to happen. At most, there may be two theatrical endings, similar to the campaign for 28 Days Later. Maybe there could be an initial ending of fighting Saren and leaving the Council to die and the next week if you see it again Saren will be talked into killing himself and the Council is saved. That's just an example. In the 28 Days Later example, in one ending the main character lives and the other he dies. It's plausible to do for a ME movie.

I truly hope its based on one of the books (which I have not read), or something entirely different (ex. First Contact War).

Viggo Mortensen his epicness will bring life to Commander Sheppard. He made Lord of the Rings what it was not to mention The Road was great. But they won't make the movie off the First Contact War because in wasn't a full blown war not enough to go on. They will probably make a montage of how humanity made it passed our Solar System using Mass Relays. Some idiot wrote that Mass Effect meant decision making the game, wrong its the Science Fiction of the game where dark energy is manipulated to create Mass Effect Fields.

Most of you people are funny, but seriously, it's going to be about the "Default" Shepard, and im 100% sure.
You cant just say it's gonna mess up your gaming experience, because that is just preposterous! Also, think about the people who don't even know about Mass Effect, most likely they are gonna want to see the MAIN protagonist , not some background story because that would be boring. I want to see some real action where Commander Shepard is kicking some serious butt! You can't top that.

gender, background, and military reputation of the main character. So that [most] fans will delighted to see the

shepard they want to see in the movie.

Personally I'm not really sure what to say. To me, a movie sorta ruins the whole point of Mass Effect. It's about the choices you make in the game, and how it effects everything around you (hence mass effect?). If a movie pops up, I'd think it would ruin the fun.

Now, if this would be about expanding the universe, and focused not so much on Shepard, I will be excited. Otherwise, I'm still 'eh'.

   Thats not why the game is called Mass Effect because of decision making. Thats science fiction in the game used to explain dark energy and the manipulation of dark energy to create Mass Effect Fields which is used in everything in that universe. Decision making doesn't really effect the main plot of the game going regenade or paragon for example you save the council or let them die humanity still becomes a member most aliens still feel resentment either choice you make because such a new race to enter the council. Don't get me wrong it effects our playstyle but not how reapers exist and still our coming to annihilate organic life. 
   Plus if they make a movie it will be about Shepard but I'm sure it will appeal more paragon to give that Good vs Evil, Light vs Dark arch. The First Contact War wasn't really a war more like a skirmish which lasted about 3 months. If anything they will make a short montage of how humanity found prothean tech on Mars and how we entered into the galactic community, maybe showing some combat on the Skylian Blitz because in my opinion there going with the war hero Shepard because theres more story there. 
  Now my only gripe is they better not make it a cheesy PG-13 film where they add more CGI than character development, which I guarantee they will do.

Its going to be pre-set Shepard. Earthborn colonist male that looks like Vanderloo.

Or ..they could just stick to the actual Shepard and use preset plots. Whats the problem here .. ?

Yea man, he would be a great choice. I don't see why some people are like "awww hell no, he sucks as an actor". I bet the people who say this have not even seen the show "LOST". They don't know what they are talking about.

They are going to use the real Shepard.
Changing his appearance in the movie (like you are able to in the game) is a horrid idea.

Ahhh! I'm confused now. I always thought that Commander Shepard was the players story and that the Shepard the player makes in the game is the player, like if I make my shepard with my first name wouldn't that make him me?
