i highly doubt they would be advertiseing something that is two years off the most they have done so far is get  script writer

Also, don't make it in 3D. It would be awful. I'm so sick of the 3D fad.

We're in the age of The Hobbit and Toy Story 3 being in 3D.

Seth Green definately has to take the Joker role. These two characters will really sell the movie

Sam Worthington can't act and does'nt look like Shepard. Matthew Fox for Shepard.

I agree with an above poster that they should make it about something the games haven't featured ... I think they should make the movie a prequel about either the first contact war ...

Looking forward to what they can do .. Mass Effect is definitely a great universe to translate to film if its done right ... time will tell ...

Please no Matthew Fox, he isn't that good. Chirs Hemsworth or Tom Hardy for Sheppard.

Keith David for Anderson, his voice is iconic for Anderson, and though older, David can still act very well. Not sure as to what Anderson's ethnicity is, but he could definiley be percieved as African American even though his skin color looks more Native American. Guess I just really want to see him in this movie. Also, I totally agree that Seth Green would be right at home as Joker and to those that say Mattew Fox is a bad actor, have you seen LOST?

First contact war sounds good. Making a film about Shepard's story when it isn't complete and there's no official canon version of it would be beyond stupid.

I'm all for First Contact War, it would be a great way to start things off if this movie becomes one of a series which seems likley. I can see it now, it starts off on Earth and everybody is happy about the mission to Mars success, but what's this? The team seems to have uncovered artifacts of an ancient spacefaring civilization. Immediatley humanity tries to harness the new tech to explore further to find new planets and maybe colonizable worlds they could draw resources from, or maybe other life, the very thing man had always looked up at the stars an wondered, what if? While exploring, Humanity is stunned when they discover the Mass Relays, all seems to be leading to the beginning of a new golden age as humanity remains in awe at the fact that the stars are finally within reach,when suddenly we make contact! Humanity learns the hard way that there is other life in the galaxy, and they have opinions too. Anyone else get chills?

Ripped some of that off of "The Story So Far" but here I'm giving credit to it.

I would love to see the First Contact War, but as a prequel to the trilogy. These movies are going to be about Shepard. The First Contact War should be like The Hobbit. The Lord of the Rings trilogy came out, was uber successful, and now they are making The Hobbit and when it's released everyone and their senile grandma are gonna go watch it.

Making a movie about the FCW as the first movie isn't a smart idea at all because there is no built in audience. Sure most of us know what the first contact war is, but do you really believe that the millions upon millions of casual gamers even remember it from the codex? I doubt it. They sure as hell remember the name MASS EFFECT though. And that is why Shepards story must come first.

DUDE Chris Hemsworth for Shepard has been my choice all along! Glad to see you're thinking on the same wavelength! He's got that "Shep-factor" that Fox, while a good actor, just does NOT have. It's a prescence the actor has to natually exude, and Hemsworth is it!

If you don't know who he is, he was Kirk's dad in the new Star Trek, and he's playing Thor in the upcoming Marvel movie.

i know mathew fox is "rumored" on IMDB to have the part, but I think he has high pitched voice. is it just me, or do some of you agree? he looks spot on on, but shepard (when it's a male) has a deep commanding voice, plus mathew fox is a bit old for the part assuming this will also be a trilogy. i think the role should be filled with someone who is a young talent without a huge ego that might get in the way.

I think a lot of us would like to see the movie with two different Shepards, but that's not going to happen. At most, there may be two theatrical endings, similar to the campaign for 28 Days Later. Maybe there could be an initial ending of fighting Saren and leaving the Council to die and the next week if you see it again Saren will be talked into killing himself and the Council is saved. That's just an example. In the 28 Days Later example, in one ending the main character lives and the other he dies. It's plausible to do for a ME movie.

Since the decision-making thing is a big part of the experience, I think it would make sense for them to do something like that, I can see in my head, two friends bewildered that they saw two different versions of the same movie, which in turn might make more money for the studio, because some might want to see the movie again just to see the different decision. And it wouldn't be that hard, just switch out a couple of scenes.

If Avatar can turn human actors into blue alien characters, surely Mass Effect can human actors into human characters that look more like the game characters than any actor would?
Nah, that's a stupid idea. Also, having fully-CGI main characters and some non-CGI background characters just wouldn't look right. CGI characters performing in both CGI and real sets is an interesting idea but also fairly pointless really.

Has Rhona Mitra been mentioned in this thread yet? [for FemShep, that is]

I like the idea of doing full CGI and leveraging that to enable making multiple versions of the movie.
