hundreds of hours
Hundreds of hours? There isn't even 50 hours in ME1+ME2 with all DLC's.
That's more like a very expanded FPS, than classical RPG like Gothic.
Well you must have rushed through the game then, my first playthrough of ME1 was 70 hours, and I didn't even do everything there was to do. There were tons of side missions, extras you stumbled upon... I'll grant ME2 didn't have that, which is why alot of ME1 fnas were sort of disappointed with it, but it certainly brought out the shooter crowd, didn't it?
I guess I was wrong back when I first got ME and declared to my husband "FINALLY an RPG that isn't sword and spell that I can really get into!" because it certainly seems like they keep shrinking and narrowing the focus, doesn't it? No more hours of endless space exploration, finding derelict ships with crazy ladies who attack you, discovering secret Cerberus terrorist cells ....
Nope, now we make it more linear, remove choices, pre-path everything, and next we are going to scale it back further and make it a movie and show you the correct way to have played! Oh thank you for that, because I was really doing it all wrong before. *rolls eyes*
