I discuss this in my blog. My preference would be that they not do the film in live action at all.

I wouldn't bevieve everything you see on the internet, anything can change. I just hope they have the First Contact War included in the movie but not the whole movie just about the First Contact War...3mi wrote...
Thanks to IMDb Pro, I've got the 'movie summary':
"Mankind discovers ancient alien technology that enables faster than light travel. Using stored coordinates, mankind stumbles on a hostile alien race know as the Turians."
Hmm...
If I am correct, IMDb works like wikipedia in some ways where people may submit information freely and it can change anytime, so its not official.

I've been looking forward to a movie for a while, I just hope the movie can live up to the game. The games were both very epic in scale and quality, even evoking emotion from the player at times (watching your whole squad get obliterated). I think with some of the same outstanding writing it could be amazing. That said, I also agree with others that Shepard should be left out of it (though cameo / references could be funny. Maybe a Normandy flying in the background?)
agreed an small wink towards shepard

I'm not sure, all I know is Pro is a service you have to pay to access, so I guess that could sway it a little in the favour of their credibility, but then again, who knows.

IF the Mass Effect Movie were not to be based on Shepard, then who could be casted? What story could be chosen?
sephrosasia said Chiwetel Ejiofor as a young Anderson.
And about half of you wish to see it based on the First Contact War.
Thoughts?

Personally I think the First Contact War would be interesting - I'd certainly like to see how it's portrayed. God knows who'd be cast as who - my only real comments to do with casting in here so far have been that I think if Shep were in the film I'd like to see Ben Foster playing him. (I automatically assume that any Shep appearance in the movies will be a man.
I'm sure some epicness revolving the genophage could be cooked up, too. But not as a full length movie.
Who knows; I'm no movie maker.

If IMDb Pro is correct about the movie being only about the First Contact War, then it better be worth it if they are taking Shepard out of the picture. I just for some reason have a bad feeling about this now if its going towards this.3mi wrote...
