Personally a Mass Effect movie sounds like a bad idea to me, unless they set the story in another time and /or place not surrounding Shepard's story in the Mass Effect universe.

I discuss this in my blog. My preference would be that they not do the film in live action at all.

I've been looking forward to a movie for a while, I just hope the movie can live up to the game. The games were both very epic in scale and quality, even evoking emotion from the player at times (watching your whole squad get obliterated). I think with some of the same outstanding writing it could be amazing. That said, I also agree with others that Shepard should be left out of it (though cameo / references could be funny. Maybe a Normandy flying in the background?)

Thanks to IMDb Pro, I've got the 'movie summary':

"Mankind discovers ancient alien technology that enables faster than light travel. Using stored coordinates, mankind stumbles on a hostile alien race know as the Turians."

Hmm...

I wouldn't bevieve everything you see on the internet, anything can change. I just hope they have the First Contact War included in the movie but not the whole movie just about the First Contact War...
If I am correct, IMDb works like wikipedia in some ways where people may submit information freely and it can change anytime, so its not official.

Well if the movie does end up being about the First Contact War, that opens up all new "who will play..." questions, and right off the bat

Young Anderson: Chiwetel Ejiofor!

I'm not sure, all I know is Pro is a service you have to pay to access, so I guess that could sway it a little in the favour of their credibility, but then again, who knows.

I'd like to hear somebody's viewpoint on this.

IF the Mass Effect Movie were not to be based on Shepard, then who could be casted? What story could be chosen?

sephrosasia said Chiwetel Ejiofor as a young Anderson.

And about half of you wish to see it based on the First Contact War.

Thoughts?

Personally I think the First Contact War would be interesting - I'd certainly like to see how it's portrayed. God knows who'd be cast as who - my only real comments to do with casting in here so far have been that I think if Shep were in the film I'd like to see Ben Foster playing him. (I automatically assume that any Shep appearance in the movies will be a man.)

I'm sure some epicness revolving the genophage could be cooked up, too. But not as a full length movie.

Who knows; I'm no movie maker.

If IMDb Pro is correct about the movie being only about the First Contact War, then it better be worth it if they are taking Shepard out of the picture. I just for some reason have a bad feeling about this now if its going towards this.                     Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

I do too. I still think Shepard needs to be in the movie.

However, if anyone remembers what was talked about earlier, one of the lists was created for those who wanted the ME Movie to be about the First Contact War/ Skyllian Blitz to ensure known actors/actresses to play certain characters from Revelation and Ascension. This list is shown below:

A Different List

(Note: This list is very small and contains characters referring to the Skyllian Blitz/First Contact War, as well as the conflict between Anderson and Saren.)

Here’s Young Anderson:
1. Chiwetel Ejiofor – 2. Will Smith – 3. Coby Bell – 4. Boris Kodjoe – 5. Morris Chestnut

Here’s Adm. Jon Grissom:
1. Chance Kelly – 2. Bruce Greenwood

Here’s Kahlee Sanders:
1. Charlize Theron – 2. Kate Beckinsale

Here’s Saren:
1. Sean Bean - 2. Eric Bana - 3. Mark Strong - 4. Michael Wincott - 5. Gary Oldman -
6. Sean Penn - 7. Fred Tatasciore (VA + as Balak & Warden Kuril in ME 2) - 8. Liev Schriber - 9. Ben Kingsley – 10. Christian Slater – 11. Fredric Lehne – 12. Julian McMahon –
13. Kurtwood Smith

Here’s Skarr:
1. Michael Grevioux

Here’s Ambassador Anita Goyle:
1. Meryl Streep – 2. Patricia Clarkson

And here’s Jill’Dah:
1. Rhona Mitra

For some reason, somebody DID say Will Smith as young Anderson...I didn't feel like arguing Posted Image

All im saying is people that a idea is great and all but lets face it at the end of the day it wont be what we want. Movies and games are peaks to what we wanna be in life. Truth is if its a good movie we love it if its bad we will hate it yet bioware will bring out something so awesome to counter it we will forget all about it ............... in the end know matter what idea you got in your head they will do there own things in the movie

but they should pick a real actor to do it pick a nobody give them a shot it worked before it will work agian
