Anyone else here hoping that they'll make Shepard a biotic? I wanna see a Biotic-Fu fight between him and Saren...

That's the worst thing about this movie. They want to include Shepard in it but there is no a specific one. Evrybody has his/hers own. My sheps are biotics, spies, and many others. Don't know why but never a soldier and if the movie shep will be one it will kill the movie for me. And for others it will be horible for him/her to be a tech.

My point is such that they should not make a movie that inclueds shepard in it. Maybe something about the 2 years gap betwean ME1 and 2. About Liara or Ash. But don't destray our view of Shepard.

Casting Shepard will require a familiar name to max box office returns. I'm betting a well-known action movie actor with a good background in fight choreography, wire work, guns, etc... Choosing a new face for a lead character is too much of a gamble for producers.

My faves: Gerald Butler for MaleShep (a Legendary Pictures star as well)

Rhona Mitra for FemShep (great presence, played the stoic soldier before)

As I've stated before, I'm hoping Legendary will go for the gimmick of filming 2 movies in 1, with Male/Fem Sheps in each version. In a business where ticket sales make or break a producer, a gimmick encouraging people to go see a movie twice (with slightly different stories) may be a great idea.

I would definitely try to stick to the VA's wherevever possible (i.e. those that have screen experience like David, Henrickssen, Green, Strahovski, Sheen, etc...) and those who's character may require extensive CG or costume work (like the krogans, turians and quarians). The game VA's are talented, no need to replace them with different voices and faces.

Commander Shepard played by Angelina Jolie straight from her new movie Salt, previous action films include Wanted, The Bone Collector, Mr and Mrs Smith, Laura Croft with and without enhancements.

I really do not want Commander Shepard staring in a movie. Male or Female.

I think the part of Liara should first be offered to actress Jillian Murray since her face and body were used to create Liara in the first place. Who better to play Liara than Liara.

I have to say I am against any kind of ME movie. Video games that go to movies ALWAYS suck. ME is such a great game. The ME universe is just amazing. A movie will just screw all that up.

i partially agree, especially when it's a multi-choice game some of the choices must be left-out not "take what you want" in the game...........

Matthew Fox fits the role visually, but can he pull it off? Debatable.

Seth Green MUST play Joker, anyone else will ruin the character, not to mention the fans will rage.

I assume aliens like Garrus and Wrex will be CGI, therefore, these character MUST be voiced by their original VAs if at all atleast Garrus, Wrex and Saren, should be voiced by Brandon Keener, Steven Barr and Fred Tatasciore respectively.

Ashley Williams... I've heard Michelle Rodriguez a number of times but I don't think it fits, Erica Cerra could probably pull it off. :D

Kaidan hrm... Patrick Dempsey? Kinda sounds like him vocally, and I think he could pull off that whiner quite well.

Liara I go no idea who'd play her, Jillian Murray was the actress they modelled her after, but I dunno if she has the talent to pull it off, I mean look at some of the stuff she's been in. Also her voice seems a bit to "eh" to compare to that of Ali Hillis (Liara's VA)

Tali should either be played by Liz Sroka her actual VA or Freida Pinto, just cuz I like her >.< lol

I don't know if this has already been said; but I believe that the best ME movie they could make is one about the First Contact War. that would be awesome if done well and they wouldn't have any problems that they would if they did anything concerning Shepard, or any of the other characters we already know (I mean they could really screw up, it's happened before with just about every videogame movie).

I mean come on! Humans vs turians in all-out war in space and over different planets? plus how in the end the council is able to convince them to cease hostile activity and humanity ends up as a member of Citadel Space, forever opening wide the doors to the final frontier; a new citadel race with endless posibilities ahead of them and a whole galaxy to explore! what an amazing movie that would make!!

I heard that Matthew Fox does not want to be acting in anymore TV shows. On ET (Entertainment Tonioght), it said also that he will be taking a break from acting, I don't know for how long but hopefully he will get the role as Commander Shepard! But thats if Commander Shepard will even feature in the movie, which I think will most likely happen.

If Fox gets an offer as the lead role in a big movie you can bet that he will take it without hesitation. Its what he's been waiting for.

That would be a terribly un-interesting story for a movie. They fight for a while and then there is peace. The end.

Doesn't that describe alot of war movies, and even a couple wars?

If they do a movie on the first contact War it would probably follow the Illusive man, as he is the only major character to have been around during that time.

The events of the First Contact War seem to be imo better told through a book or graphic novel.

The movie should be about the events of ME1.  After all, if it was about anything else anyone who never played or watched someone else play ME1 would have no idea what this First Contact War is and why fans are making a big deal about it etc.

For example the LOTR movies, told the story from the books, they didn't make a movie about the "Battle-under-Stars" because no one except readers and fans of the series knew what it was.

People out of the loop may enjoy a movie about the First Contact War at face value but they'll most likely have no idea what it is and why it is significant.

What about Captain Anderson?  He was fighting around that time.

Yes, but he would be Shepard's age, and they would probably screw everything up and cast someone like Denzel Washington.

Our best bet is to take the game and adapt it into the movie. I think if Seth Green plays Joker, and we get Saren's VA to play him, along with Priestly Exec Producing, we should be fine. It's just a movie, if it sucks it's not going to ruin the franchise.

(1) Mass Effect movie should be trilogy.

Mass Effect movie part 1 = Mass Effect 1 game's story.
Mass Effect movie part 2 = Mass Effect 2 game's story.
Mass Effect movie part 3 = Mass Effect 3 game's story.

(2) Each movie should be 3 hours long if they REALLY want to tell MASS EFFECT STORY.

(3) They should make movie about female paragon Shepard :)

(4) Movie Shepard should be Engineer or Infiltrator :)

P.S. PLEASE make this move not just good or exelent... make it GODLIKE! So everyone who will see this move will have to say "this is the best move of all time!".

the Default "Canon" Shep is a Male Soldier named John Shepard.  Which is likely what this one will be.

The storyline from Mass Effect 1 sounds like it would have far better character development and have more substance. To me, its really hard for me to picture a good movie about the first contact war.

Mass Effect 2 is so relationship/dialogue heavy it might struggle as a film, in my opinion.

I agree with 3mii - I was playing Mass Effect 2 yeasterday, and I realized that the game has so many characters, each of whom needs a loyalty mission and several conversations to be truly fleshed out, that there's little to no way, short of a movie with several installments (like the upcoming Harry Potter movies), that it could be adapted to screen without losing something. ME2 might work better as a TV show, though that is extremely doubtful. Maybe the movie could combine elements of ME1 and ME2, but that would likely anger fans. The way I see it working, is that the first movie could follow ME1's storyline, and then the sequel would use ME2's storyline as a base, but be really bold and do its own thing.

The problem with ME2 was all the characters. They were good, but they never explained why those specific characters were the BEST in the entire galaxy for said mission.

This maybe pretty good. If BioWare are behind the script writing, then I know they will keep to a certain aspect to the game world.

I just hope if its a live action film an not animated that they pick some really good actors that can pull the character off.

Male Shepard = Hugh Jackman

Female Shepard = Kate Beckinsale oooo to see her in a skin tight N7 armour. Or is that just me?
