Please make it First contact war, later ending the movie with kid Sheppard's family being attacked and him rescued by Alliance troops!

hey, wouldn't it make more sense to make ME a high quality 5 year tv series (in the battlestar galactica model). You could stretch the money making machine out for years with spinoff series, mini series, occasional movies.

Furthermore, big movies are risky. To date, no videogame movies have been successful, none. You have one shot and hope that alot of people see the movie on opening day, or your movie is declared a failure, and no second or third movie will come (which is obviously what we're hoping for.)

Contrast that to a tv series: there is a huge gap in scifi programming right now: no firefly, no star trek, no battlestar galactica, only this puny stargate universe show. Mass effect could be the next epic sci tv series of the generation and could become a 40 year franchise as opposed to a 10 year trilogy.

I agree, I probably prefer TV Series better than films, it gives the oppurtunity to carry plots over more slow and let them unfold and a prefferred speed, instead of cramming into one film. Films are good when there is a SAGA, (Star Wars for example).

A TV series would work well for Mass Effect because think how many quests there are in Mass Effect (1 and 2), now if each quest was given its own 45 min episode, i think that would work really well, and adding new things in aswell.

As for the films - i agree; its either a massive Success, or massive failure. Plus if it was a massive failure (which I jolly well hope not), then Bioware would lose money and not be able to do more Mass Effect stuff, and people would get a wrong impression of Mass Effect.

As for Stargate Universe - I'm getting season 1 on DVD soon. It looks really good from the Trailer :)

Probably won't ever happen and I would only want to see a series if it was a top quality series witha  good cast and good budget. AKA if its made by the SyFy channel I won't watch it.

Why not, I don't have SyFy but arent the good sci-fi shows put on it, like Stargate and stuff?

Stargate is..meh. Some SG1 and Universe is good, but the rest is poor,
And SyFy usually has god-awful films and shows. SOme exceptions though.

I never liked star gate personally or anything that has ever been on SyFy. Some good shows to me would be like Lost, The Wire, Sapranoes, Dexter, Weeds, ect. I don't know if they would be able to find the kind of support to get the budget and production that these shows get though.

even stargate universe can't match battlestar galactica. If the mass effect tv series were not better than battlestar or something like 24, it would be a fail.

OK, so who wants to take bets that the movie is horribly miscast? Cause you know there is a producer somewhere who's thinking "Hey, you know who's hot right now? Seth Rogen. The kids love'm. We'll have Seth Rogen play Commander Shepard. Let's see who else...OH! Robert Pattinson! He's hot right now, the chicks love'm. Let's see...He'll be Garrus, but with less make up so the gals can still know it's him."

Seriously I'd rather it all be CGI.

It's possible the casting might be bad but probably not to that extent. I just hope we don't have like Gerard Butler or Channing Tatum as Shepard and Michelle Rodriguez as Ashley, yuck.

I'd personally prefer that they choose talented new actors over those big stars. First if the actors do their job's right it might open doors to bigger success and second is that when they use less money on actors the rest of production gets more money to use. And I would like Neill Blomkamp to be director because he has a lot of experience when it comes to Sci-Fi genre (he directed District 9 and has also done some effects for SG-1). I do think how ever this one will be one of those blockbusters which are entertaining but has nothing else to offer than weak plot whit lots of effects and action on top (but hey, it is still better than what would Uwe Boll do).

Oh gods that would be so amazing, I most definitely second this. My only question is how it would fit in the time line. A movie lasts 1.5-2 hours but who knows how long a good show could go on for. So you'd have to pick a time which you characters could romp around in without causing any paradoxes.

And for that matter any ideas on when the movie's set?

Lets just hope they don't make a spin-off plot....... <_<

If they ever make a sequel, ME2 movie would be better as a series than a movie.

Think about it, recruiting a new member evert episode. Awesome. :D

Im for CGI because either way the entire movie will be on a greenscreen and they could add a menu before the beggining of the movie to chose the gender, origins, and love interest of Commander Shepard and pray to the gods of the Tevinter disney ain't involved in this

I agree with the CGI, but not the menu screen idea.

Forget Fem Shep, everyone recognises Male Shep, not her.

Since when was a Fem Shep on the cover of the games? Never, so non-players wouldn't recognise her.

Non-players can recognise Male Shep. He's everywhere; Trailers, Game Covers etc etc.

Actually I'm for a TV series as well. Problem is TV programming these days is vehemently about the highest profit margin possible. Mass Effect would be expensive to produce and even if they chop it all up so you have a commercial break every 5-7 minutes (essentially create a "one hour show" that has equally as much commercials as TV show content) they'd still end up canceling it after a short run because Sci-Fi isn't as profitable as "Reality TV." A Mass Effect TV show might do well on HBO or Showcase, but again most modern day TV producers don't care about content or art or entertainment so much as making the shareholders happy.

The good thing about TV series, even if you don't watch them on TV (which most people probably don't because of the adverts), they come out on DVD later, which most people will then go buy, to watch whenever they want, without the adverts.

Oh the thought of Mass Effect 2 DVD's makes me extremely ecstatic.
