I bet this has been posted but:

Now why would disney be interested in the ME Movie? Do we want to even think that Disney's involved in it, just like they did with Prince of Persia?
I REVOLT!!!!
Prince of Persia wasnt that bad
Not all Disney movies sucked, I agree. Prince of Persia was decent - considering the fact that it's their first time distributing a film from a video game. In fact, most of the Disney movies in general are very well praised. But in this case, I would be wary of DIsney making yet another live-action and cgi'd film, let alone Mass Effect.
If I was looking into live-action films and live-action films w/ animation for trilogies (from the past 10 years to now), you're looking at movies such as Pirates of the Carribean, High School Musical, National Treasure, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Santa Clause. Yes, some of us love pirates, magical creatures, and zac efron - and that's not a bad thing. But honestly, would I really pay for an ME film that's going to be distributed by Disney Studios w/ a track record of all 5 of these trilogies/sagas? My answer would be NO.
Taking into account that Disney released Prince of Persia only a few months ago, I don't think that I would imagine even wanting an ME Movie (being rated PG-13) for being distributed of that kind of stature, cheesy or not. Heck, most of these Disney movies included an "oh, we/he/she helped/saved this/them from that and now everything's a happily-ever-after" routine. That's the same with all animated Disney movies, live-action films, and the movies in between animation and live-action. And they've been doing that since 1937. I think that would be boring and compeletely unecessary to show to kids/teens something as complex as ME (especially Prince of Persia), even when Disney Studios matured their movies to attract to adults as well. The general public wouldn't get it, wouldn't want to understand it, and would be mainly considered to those who have played or seen Mass Effect before. The content of the Mass Effect game already possesses to gamers with the knowledge of Shepard's backstory and what gamers know from the ME games and books so far. It would irrefutable for Disney to do so, given this knowledge.
However, with Legendary Pictures, they have made stunning and visualized movies that had impacted teenagers and adults since Batman Begins (2005). They have currently made plenty of box-office successes in a matter of 5 years for live-action films, not like Disney (since 1950); more-so for recognizing DC Comics movies, like Batman and Superman. Now, they are trying to enter films from the gaming industry - Mass Effect being the first.
Legendary WILL gain a tremendous achievement for us gamers and to the known public even more if the ME Movie is created like we had all believed it to be, regardless of it not being the Shepard we all would like.
One more thing: I would disagree with favoring Jerry Bruckheimer over Legendary Pictures. I enjoy watching Jerry's movies, but w/ Pirates 4 being currently filmed as we speak and National Treasure 3 underway, that would be a lot pressure for man if you include for him to help with the ME Movie for release in 2012.
