Jason Statham. He suites the character. Just the accent people may not like.

What about Bruce Willis for Commander Shepard? If male that is.

For a female Commander Shepard how about Natasha Henstridge?

I can't stand dumb badass characters. Where are the good old hereos like Indiana Jones or Luke Skywalker ? Nothing is worse then Kratos or Marcus Pheonix. For one good characters like Nico Bellic, you have 5 bad characters.

I rather watch a movie with Femshep too, a movie that goes away from the badass stereotype. A movie can't be good if it focus on some generic hero with a careless attitude with big muscles, big guns and who is threatening everybody to get the job done.

Uh huh....And there's just as many against the whole "White Knight Nice guy" type too.  Sorry to tell you but chivalry is dead ....Or at least in a coma with severe internal bleeding lol

I'm not asking for a White Knight Nice Guy either.  I'm just asking for somebody who can use their brain and can do something without threatening somebody with a gun.  Anyway, muscles is nothing if you don't have the proper brain to use it.

I don't think that Nico Bellic fit as the white knight stereotype, but he was a far better character  then anything Gears of War or God of war has to offer.  So is Nathan Drake.

The best cast for the upcoming Mass Effect Movie should be as follows:
Mass Effect Cast list"
Commander Shepard: Timothy Olyphant
Kaidan Alenko: Jensen Ackels
Ashley Williams: Danielle Panabaker
Garrus Vakarian: Jared Padlecki
Urdnot Wrex: Kevin Grevioux
Liara T'soni: Jennifer Morrison
Tali'zorah Nar Rayya: Liz Sroka
Captain Anderson: Keith David
Jeff "Joker" Moreau: Seth Green
Saren Arterius: Hugo Weaving
Matriarch Benezia: Marina Sirtis

Nothing beats this list of actors that I've put together. With a cast like that for the first movie I know It'll be an epic movie. And for the second movie since it's a suicide mission get another great list like this:
Mass Effect 2 Cast List"
Commander Shepard: Timothy Olyphant
Jeff "Joker" Moreau: Seth Green
Garrus Vakarian: Jared Padlecki
Tali'zorah Vas Neema: Liz Sroka
Captain Anderson: Keith David
Illusive Man: Martin Sheen
Miranda Lawson: Yvonne Strahovski
E.D.I: Tricia Helfer
Jacob Taylor: Omar Epps
Samara: Nicollette Sheridan
Legion: D.C. Douglas
Thane Krios: Keanu Reeves
Urdnot Grunt: Steve Blum
Professer Mordin Solus: Zach Braff
Jack (Subject-Zero): Natalie Portman
Zaeed Massani: Robin Sachs
Kasumi Goto: Lucy Liu

Without Mark Hammil... we don't want him to whine about another science fiction movie that "ruined" his career lol.

I'm a fan of Deadwood. Timothy Olyphant was by far the worst actor in that series. He may resemble Shepard in looks, but I doubt the Dutch model that provides the face of male Shepard could do any worse. Besides, he's already done the Hitman movie, and I believe there's going to be a second.

I'm hoping they make it similar to how they did the theatrical ME2 trailer. That was epic.

the reason why i picked hammil is because garrus has the calm stirdy whispy voice almost soothing. and i think hammil can do it great depending on how the script is written

Okay, I just have to ask.

Why does Mass Effect get picked up for a movie by Legendary Pictures, one of of the most awesome film making companies of our time, and the Dragon Age movie is getting done by.... Funimation....

Don't get me wrong, I am SO excited about the Mass Effect movie and I can't WAIT to see it. But as a Dragon Age Origins fangirl as well, I was hoping someone that isn't famously known for censoring blood and gore whenever they can would pick up Dragon Age. T_T

I would like to see Fem!Shepard instead of a Male!Shepard as well, but male leads are more popular because they appeal to both female and male viewers. Being the trailers also always show the male characters, it is sad, but likely that Shepard will be male.

I think MaleShep fits the story well and has the best romance options, something you'll need for the film. In dragon age though, I'd like to see a female warden for the very same reasons. Femshep's weakness as a character in Mass Effect, or at least perceived weakness as a character, might be because they did not bother to make her really female, only a male character with female form. Basing her on characters like Helen Ripley or Sara Conners would have helped a lot.

Why? because whether or not you wish to admit it or not, Mass Effect is BioWare's cashcow right now and not Dragon Age.  That's not saying Dragon Age isnt popular.  It's just saying that Mass Effect is pulling more revenue and therefore will get the "bigger" producer or whatnot than Dragon Age.

The above list looks pretty good. It's not unrealistically star-studded, and many of those actors hold promise. Timothy Olyphant is a possibility I have not heard name-dropped before (nice to see some variety, given that last time I checked in here the conversation seemed to be dominated by Matt Fox and Christian Bale). Judging by Olyphant's filmography and looks, I think he could be a contender. I like the fact that you included many of the games' VA's reprising their actual roles, and while my personal preference is that they CGI the aliens and use Panasonic's motion-capture technology for them, while keeping the original VA's, I respect your choices there. The only thing I disagree with is having the two leads from Supernatural playing two major characters.

Thanks CmdrKankrelat, the reason I picked these characters is because they can banter well together, for example I chose the two leads from Supernatural to play those roles becasue they act well together and more than likely the character Kadian will die on Virmire by blowing up the Krogan Breading Lab. So that will just leave Jared Padlecki from Supernatural.  I agree with CGI on a few aliens like the Geth and Krogan but aliens like Tali, Liara and Garrus and Saren, and Thane could all be done with makeup and prostetecs. Characters like the Krogans and Geth need to be CGI therefore why not keep the people that voiced them in the games, and Tali is in a suit and Liz is great at voicing her so that was a must keep. In the second movie it's just like the game a suicide mission so some of the characters should be killed off just like the game in the suicide missionlike 2 or 3, not all of them of course just . Therefore freeing up money and acting room for the original characters and new ones that the 3rd game that we know very very little about.  I also wouldn't be opposed to splitting the second movie into two parts that way you can involve more of the storyline giving people the whole story.

If Jason Statham is cast as Shepard I will not be seeing this movie. As much as I love the ME games, his casting would make me refuse to go see this movie. I do think Matthew Fox would do well in the role though. I would not want them to cast any huge names for the major roles...except the obvious Martin Sheen as TIM and Seth Green as Joker.

Krogan Breading Lab.

I can imagine a bunch of krogan wearing aprons and toques at a bakery.

Check out our krogan kroissants [sic].  Our Fist to the Face Foccacia is delicious.  Shotgun-wielding vanguards will love our Pump-Action Pumpernickel.  Adepts will shockwave homeless people out of the way for a taste of our Biotic Baguettes.

Who else thinks that Jennifer Hale & Mark Meer deserve to get some small cameo appearances in the movie? They could sit somewhere in a bar or they could play operators in a computer central or something like that.

I have not been a fan of Mark's VO performance so we'll let Jen operate a console next to the galaxy map and Mark can swab the deck or something :P
