I seriously hope and pray that Bioware and the writers they've hired are creative enough to come up with a story that will add to the world of Mass Effect without creating a "canon" Shepard by re-using the story of the games with some random action star in place of Shep. I know they have it in them.

Of course, if they don't, I'd probably still go to see it. Can't lie.

Judging from the novels insofar, I think the idea of a canon Shepard is long past. The movies will likely center around some new faces in the ME universe as well as maybe a couple mentions of the crew we've seen so far. Although, Ascension and its sequel (forgot the title) have managed to get by with just a vague reference to TIM.

So, I have pretty high hopes for the cinematic versions. After all, Mass Effect itself is already pretty damn close to a movie. I just get to do the shooting and punching of reporters ^^

Who will play Commander Shepard? I think it will be silly if they do not create a story around Commander Shepard - the renegade one. Personally, I hope that they can get Will Smith to play Commander Shepard.

i'd like to see a turian soldier as the main character in the first contact war with the humans.

he would abide by his orders to fight the humans, the war being the first half of the movie in which he meets a human soldier that he learns to respect but ultimately has to kill the human soldier when the time came.

and the after years as the second half with the turian coping with what he did in the war by leaving the turian army and becoming a C-sec officer. at the end he meets his end by helping the humans through illegal means (as he saw that the humans deserved better) and getting caught.

Hey, everyone can appreciate a movie that's so bad it's good.
Of course, there are so many things that can go wrong with this that it'll probably turn out straight bad, but there's still a chance it might be entertaining.

Book adaptations however, make good movies.
If they were to base the movie on the books, the film(s) will hopefully be of a better quality, not catering too much for the gamer.

you're right, pal, there are crimes on games adaptations to cinema, but think about it, let's say, for example, resident evil: film is be a crap since the game has no argument, but mass effect has a great story, so it shouldn't be that bad

Why not do an animated movie(like final fantasy advent children)? I'm not always a fan of animation, but it's a safe choice. That way it's not a big theater release and you don't have to worry entirely of writers that are most likely going to butcher the story as they usually do for video game adaptations.

FemShep is better by far because she does sound like a human being with MaleShep sounds an emotionless threat-machine. I don't want something as bad as Gears Of War.

well since they are already doing DA animated movie, one a say it not too much of a hug supprise. I guess they are going to skip shepard timeline altogather. there is alot they can do with this movie, how the citadel was found to begin with, the first contact wars or just on Lt David Edward Anderson and Saren Arterius.

I am not a person that will classified every single game to film muvie as bed,i will rader weight and see,but i cant help but be worried.
If they decide to make movie on Shepard,thau will lose iven if the storu iz good.
1.Shepard's gender:that is the sensitive subject,if thou take male many women won't be happy(in that case i won't be unhappy just displays)
2.LI that is a hall another catastrofi (people all ready start flame wars on this subject ).Just imagine what will happen if the peak Ashley in stead of Liara, or Liara instead of Kaiden.
3.And don't forget junkie choisez
If you ask me this three things alone are hard bullets to dodge.
I think that muve beist on difrent storu will do bether,it will earn more money(with is the hall point of all this) and it will compliment if not improve the ME universe.

A animated movie with a little more quality than that cinematic where shepard/thane/grunt fight the collectors would be the best choise for fans, but unfortunately this kind of movie doesn't make good profits. =(
