I could see it being something like fifth element costume wise, I don't think sheppard should be in it at all maybe mentioned but if it took place before the plot of ME that would probably canonize a background because there wouldnt be much to talk about him/her accept their past, honestly id rather not see a movie of Mass Effect because I loved the books, games and dont want to see the movie ****d out to hollywood like a michael bay film with lots of special effects and no substance

Why are you guys bashing on this movie, seriously trust in BIOWARE they're writting and producing it, and we all know BIOWARE has always given us the best Video Games. So I guarantee that this movie is going to be perfection. I bet my list of actors that I chose above will most likely be 75% to 100% correct on who they choose for the movie roles. So calm down peeps give the gods of RPG their chance at this movie before you criticize it.

I think the key wore here is Video Games.Video Games dont not equal muvies.I still do trust them.

Bioware is not actually "making" the movie. Sometimes the story has to be edited to fit into a movie and because fans usually have their own version of how things should be in their mind - they will be more critical. IMO the movie will be made for public, even those who havent played ME.

A ME movie without Shepard is like... a Star Wars movie without Jedi... Shepard is the first human Spectre... and we all know where Captain Anderson ends up so... not much fun watching it.

that's why i had this idea in which they can explore how the turians had their first contact war with the humans:

i'd like to see a turian soldier as the main character in the first contact war with the humans.

he would abide by his orders to fight the humans, the war being the first half of the movie in which he meets a human soldier that he learns to respect but ultimately has to kill the human soldier when the time came.

and the after years as the second half with the turian coping with what he did in the war by leaving the turian army and becoming a C-sec officer. at the end he meets his end by helping the humans through illegal means (as he saw that the humans deserved better) and getting caught.

Do you honestly think Mass Effect movie will be in the same timeline as the games?

They wont, they will most likely be during the first contact war.

Timothy Olyphant is the most talentless hack of an actor, I've ever seen.

Look, I sincerely hope BW keeps the hollywood idiots in check and make a ME movie that will satisfy the fans.  Unfortunately, hollywood has a history of taking a good idea and ****ting on it.  Case and point...Dan Browns Angels & Demons....excellent book, but Ron Howard and hollywood **** all over that movie. 

When I think of a ME movie, my biggest fear is another Wing Commander movie.  Remember that garbage?  ME has great material and could potentially be made into an excellent movie franchise that I feel could be right up there with Star Wars and Star Trek as great space movie franchises.  Hollywood just has not found a way to satisfactorily transfer great video game material into movies.  While I will hope this movie will be mind-blowing, I will go into it with low expectations. 

Honestly though, this and Gears of War are two games I had hoped they would never make into movies.  The video games are cinematic enough by themselves.  All we can do is hope for the best.

i just wish they won't make the mistake to release Mass Effect 3 after the movie release.if the movie fail horrible it's could be bad publicity for the original story and IP.

The movie will be different and you have to accept it.Hell they could make a different story within the mass effect universe before the reaper incident.That what i'm hoping.There's a lot of material they can work with , without screwing to much with the Shepard story.For instance the story could happens 30 years before the citadel attack and deal with another Soldier .  They could also work with the whole first contact war.

Im probably one of the few that absolutely hated avatar, and I truly hope this wont turn into that or something like the star wars prequels have some cool effects but focus more on the story, I kinda dont want them to touch the series but since they will I hope they wont touch the characters or at least respect the character... As for Timothy Olyphant as sheppard he played Agent 47 in hitman a game I loved and he almost ruined that character for me. I would like Keith David to play Anderson if they do the Revelation novel hes an underated actor and I love the voice of Anderson.
