no...earlier than that. Was just kiddin' anyway. Jackson's a good actor and has the ability to put the character they want on the screen. Was just a funny thought that popped in my head when I saw his name, that's all. Still LMAO tho'...Cosmicinator wrote...

Mass Effect Revelation, written by Drew Karpyshyn is about when Captain Anderson almost became a Specter.
Mass Effect Ascension also written by Drew Karpyshyn is about Cerberus' effects on biotics and the attack on one of the ships of the Quarian Migrant Fleet.
And finally Mass Effect Redemption the comic, written by Mac Walters and John Jackson Miller about how Cerberus got Shepard's body.
All good stories in the Mass Effect universe, all impacting the main story of Shepard. I think they can do a movie the same way. Whether it is, as some have suggested, about the first contact war or some other story that only the producers of Mass Effect know about, I think there is a very good chance that it will be a very good movie.
Personally, I hope that if Shepard or any of the other main characters in the game makes an appearance it is only a cameo. Oh and I'm voting for a fully CGI movie. After having played Mass Effect 1 & 2 for several hundred hours, it would just seem, well, wrong to have live actors.

Being a Tali fan, yes, I would be biased to the side of a Tali romance of some sort. But if Shepard romances someone else, I'll live. In the end, I think what we all really want is a respectable ME movie.
Whoops!
Well, I have a few favorite romances, so I am not exactly biased towards one over another, except perhaps Liara, ONLY because in both ME1 and 2, she is very integral to the plot. In ME1, because she helps to uncover the location of the Beacon, and in ME2, because without her, Shepard would be dead.
I think it's pretty obvious they are going to stay with sticking as close to the default Shepard in the casting, since that is all BwEA uses in the marketing, but I like the idea of the leading lady not being typical. Liara would be perfect for making it unique, IMO.
And i'm not going to lie, even if it looks terrible, I'll still go and watch it in the theatre. It's Mass Effect!

I only hope that the base the movie off of ME: Revelation and leave Shepard where he/she belongs, in the game.

Aliens
would be executed through special effects and extras, but voiced by their
normal voice actors.
And seriously people, stop suggesting they
cast Mark Vanderloo with a Mark Meer voiceover, that would look
idiotic. I'd take acting ability over looking exactly like the
character any day.

Main Crew
Shephard- Brian Austin Green (HE WAS THE BOMB IN Sarah Conner Chronicles!) He looks right and he's got a military-esque about him.
Garrus- Brandon Routh. He's tall got a good presence and is very emotive little movment.
Ashley- Rachel Nicoles. Ashley's got to be believable as a bad ass solider and Rachel's got that in spades.
Wrex- Well you can have the voice actor from the game do the voice but in the suit you'd have to use Nathan Jones. He's a former pro wrestler and has small parts in movies like Jet Li's "Fearless" and "Troy." He's basically the only guy on the planet that could play Zangeif and lok correct in the role.
Tali- Kristen Bell. Tali's got to be cute sweet and likeable and I think Veronica Mars has got that.
Kaiden- Zachary Levi. Yes Chuck is my number one pick I can't think of anybody else that looks so much like the character.
Liara- I'm not sure. This is the only one I can't pick, you could just use the actress that modeled her for the game, still shes got to be sweet and likeable. I honestly have no idea who could play her.
Joker- Seth Green. Let's face it if anyone else but Seth Green plays Joker i think we need to have a nerd riot. Plus Seth Green has the body of someone who could actually have a bone diease instead of the body of a NFL quarter back.
Captain Anderson- Keith David. It's got to be him he's perfect for the part.
Counsoler Udina- Rowdy Roddy Piper. Don't you want to see him and Keith David re-enact their fight scene from "They Live" when Anderson needs to go get the codes. Okay the Hot Rod isn't my real pick but this One I have to leave unfortunatly blank.
Villians
Benezia- Susan Sarandon. Just cause she's perfect for the part.
Saren- Gary Oldman. I'm just throwing this one out there seeing as he plays an incredible villian. Once again just an idea.
So that's just my casting ideas. I got ideas for Mass Effect 2. But yeah those are my thoughts on Mass Effect movie casting.
BEST GAME EVER!

You know, as much as we (you) complain, you're going to see the movie anyway, because it's MASS EFFECT. And there's a chance that the movie will be less-than-good, and there's a chance that it won't be "canon," but it's a movie, and you go for the entertainment.
And it would be impossible to make the movie appeal to each and every person, because every person plays differently. They would have to make literally dozens of different versions of the movie to make everyone happy (which would be ridiculous and expensive).
Don't let the movie ruin the game for you, if it comes to that. The movie won't be a real part of the story, as far as I'm concerned.

Ass: That's bull****, MY Shepard killed the Rachni que- *Bombarded by marbles and shoe*

I was like...

then like...

And people please stop whining about the canon ... you all have your own canon stories so let the movie have it's own canon story ... don't be mean lol and If you gonna hate than pretend it never happend and don't watch it. It's Biowares Mass Effect universe not yours and they can do what they like with it. There is no canon in Mass Effect and the movie will show one of the possible paths.
Anyway congratulations Bioware! Mass Effect univerese deserves a movie! I just hope that you can pull this one off because if not than it will become an ugly stain on Mass Effects universe !
P.S. Found this in motivational theard not long ago.

Okay can we at least wait for a script to be written and casting to be made before we start bashing the project?
I'm not bashing the product. There's nothing to bash yet.
I'm using hyperbole to illustrate the plain and simple fact that this movie will not in any way compare to the games. The characters and the storylines will be forced into change to be able to acommodate for the movie format.
You will not have Shepard stopping the reaper invasion unless they cut out and change 90% of the storyline to let Shep accomplish said feat in an hour's time.
The characters will not all be present, or at the very least they will not ALL be characterized as they are in the game. It's not possible to develop all the characters, even if they solely try to recreate ME1. Some characters will be cut, pushed into the background, or changed completely to fit into the new adapted movie storyline.
It's just not possible to retell the story of the games in a movie. It will be bastardized. That is, unless they decide to go the route of Resident Evil Degeneration, which I honestly think they won't do because that wouldn't appeal to the mainstream.
Unless they decide to turn that ME 1 movie into a trilogy... Than maybe it won't be that bad...

Indeed, but Tali started it all with the evidence that Saren was behind everything. Without that, Shepard would still be running around the citadel.Shavon wrote...

And what's with all the "better not have shep in it!" Shep's a freaking bad ass, I hope he (probably will be a he since it's a guy in all the artwork) IS in it. Love what he does and wan't to see him on the big screen!
But it won't be ME without Seth Green, he's gotta be in it. I also nominate myself for the role of Garrus Vakarian, not like I need to look the part.
