I think the idea of bringing in the voice actors (who actually look remarkably like their characters) to be the actual actors in the film would be awesome.

Most of them are way too old or actually don't look the part.  Jen Hale and Mark Meer aren't action hero actors and couldn't carry Shepard.  TIM is Martin Sheen 20 years ago.  Ali Hallis doesn't look like Liara (the character was based off of Jillian Murray's face) and at 31, she doesn't even have the right look for Liara.  Raphael Sbarge is 46 and does not look enough like Kaiden to pull it off.

Other than Seth Green and Yvonne Strahovski  are basically the only two who look the part enough.  Even Keith David would have a tough time making us believe that just a few years ago he was a combat ready marine.  Although Brandon Keener, Liz Sroka and the rest of the alien cast would work fine because their characters would be better done as CGI.

I keep seeing people talk about a 2 hour movie, and if that's the case I would be disapointed.  I'm expecting a 3+ hour Avatar type bad ass movie!  I expect them to go all out to make the ME franchise the best it can be so it can rival the Star Wars and Star Trek's of the world.  Honestly they could make a few movies out of the first game alone, but I really doubt that would happen, that is if they even bother to make the movies about shepard.

As far as the cast goes, I think they have to take a page from the original star wars and have a new up and coming uknown cast for the most part.  Make this cast be known for being in the Mass Effect movie!

Not a problem, as Anderson looks nothing like a former marine even in the ME games.

You know what? As long as they don't screw it up as much as M Night did with Airbender (100mins? wtf??) I think it should be at least watchable...

I think this movie could only do true justice to the Mass Effect francise if it is done like the Lord Of The Rings films, ie a trilogy.

Off course, it should be done as a whole trilogy since the beginning, in the way of LotR as you said. But I see this hard to happen, unless someone out of BW really understand the potential of a good adaptation of ME's saga. Sadly there are not many producers that would like to spend an hudge amount of money to make and entire trilogy based on a videogame up to now. We'd need some other game turned out well in a movie, to have someone interested, but seems that the Halo and Warcraft movies had became almost a mirage.

Yeah we won't hear anything soon. I'm sure they are still in the very early stages of the script.

So many good ideas but I still think Jeremy Renner from "The Hurt Locker" would nail the role of Shepard.

Actor that was iron man would be the best for Shepard IMO.

Since this was posted 7 months ago they have probably already finished most of the acting for the movie... I would assume the CGI and visual effects would be TREMENDOUS to make a mass effect movie, after playing both games ME1 and 2 i could Definitely seeing this game being an amazing movie and am so grateful that some **** ass company and what not did not get the rights and one that has made incredible movies did.

I will be seeing this movie at midnight and i have absolute faith that it is going to kick ass, follow the original story line, make it a trilogy or how ever long this series is going to go for, get good actors, i think peter Jackson would be the best to direct this ^.^ or George Lucas haha.

i think this will be an amazing movie, but please just STICK TO THE STORY, IT IS PERFECT!!!!

Alrighty here's a deal.

Your only allowed (by fairness laws) to go before ME1

so you can basically smack all the way up to them discussing Shepard as a spectre candidate.

But don't even think about touching the main game storyline please

Because that would either kill the games for me and make me decide not to buy ME3

or put me on some damnable predestined path that i subconsciously follow because its cannon.

so first contact war? Yes

Prothean Extinction? Yes

Who the hell made the Reapers (after ME3 release please) YES

there are so many alternate stories you could do. not to mention 2 year gap while Shepard was dead.

Maybe Mordin Solus should get his own adventure (to all those who hate Mordin go to hell please, I'll buy you a ticket) So yea Mordin Solus = badass story

Heh, dunno whether to laugh or to cry. Maybe both?

One of the most appealing parts of Mass Effect was the ability to create your personalized Shepard, make the choices you desire and face their consequences. IF the movie is based on events already in game, its simply not the Mass Effect we know anymore.

How do you like watching a complete stranger play Mass Effect over their shoulder? Sure, Legendary will turn in into a great film, but it just won't be like how the games were to me.

Furthermore, i don't see how they can cram so much awesomeness into a 2 hour movie, or even a 6 hour trilogy.

Touching on the Mass Effect universe backstory will probably be a better idea. Maybe even another POV to the main game storyline would be great, tie up some lose ends in the process.

But... i guess its already too late, with the movie being months into developement :(.

If Joker makes his appeareance, SETH GREEN!

I WILL be getting tickets, regardless ^.^.

Still can't believe you guys are still suggesting real life character look alikes when all they would do is fail , if they go with the main story that is. I'm on the "make the whole movie cg" bandwagon and bring in the voice actors that we all know and love. Dunno if you guys forgot already but the cinematic trailer for ME2 was epic and beautiful and most of all believable. http://masseffect.bi...media/video/246

The movie is going to be released in 2012, so I think they have just finished writing a cript and are now looking for a cast. But I have no idea, I'm just as clueless as any other.

I am kinda exited about the movie, but seeing what a load of horse** Hollywood produced in the past few years damps my optimism.
And even if they make this movie awesome, how are they gonna turn Mass Effect 2 into a movie. (I know this has been already said a lot of times.)
And how do they know which things in the Game are important, if they start filming before the Game series is finished? Kinda reminds me of the Harry Potter movies, where it started to turn into ** very soon.
The Full Metal Alchemist anime is also an example for what I am talking about.

Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the movie.

CG FTW! Everything else is gonna go sour. What's the word on the movie anyway? I haven't heard anything in a while.

Am I the only one who thinks that the VGAs was the right setting to get an acclaimed director on board? I'm talking about Guillermo del Toro, who we know has a great interest in video games. If there's a director who can do justice to the mass effect story, it would be him I think.

i agree with the posts promoting the movie being CGI and using the same voice actors. look at the trailers as proof that it would be epic.

my shep is male but i'd prefer it if they expanded the universe and dealt with other stories. for the uninitiated the aliens might be a lot to take in. starting with the landing on mars would be a good beginning for a trilogy of movies.

This is the one thing(Mass Effect) as far as a fictional thing to attach myself to like Star Wars in the past. They had better not **** this one up because this game is the most bad ass game i have played in a long long time.
