I think you'd be surprised at how many females there are in here. I gotta say, most of the people I run into are female, and it's not because I'm only  sticking to topics that girls would talk about.

Actually, No XD Used to hang in the Liara thread, but my group has consumed all my time. And I just jump around random topics.

I agree on Strahovski but that's a big old no on Vinnie Jones, too old and too bad an actor.

But they're right, at the very least from a markting perspective. If most of the people who would watch the movie are men, they make the movie appeal to men. They'll get more money that way. The only way they'd get more money is if they made a FemShep whose sole mission was to run around the galaxy banging every asari she comes across.

To all those who want CGI or animated... really? I would kill for animatronic. To see real prosthetics and costumes used for the aliens would be soooo much better than CGI. Something more viscerally appealing, don't say that you can't see the difference...

Yeah, but to make all the animatronc gear and the material, it would probably end up costing just as much, if not more, than CGI. Plus you have all those weird, jerky robot movements that you could end up with. :/

That would compleatly destroy any kind of sense in any story, problems with movie having pace and decent action would make it nearly imspossible to do.

Don't hate me guys and galls, but I just say they should go with the games storyline, with canon male Shepard. Easiest way and defenetly smaller chances of ultimate failure the whole movie idea could bring. Why should they write a new story without knowing if people would like it when they already have Mass Effect 1 story that is epic material for a movie.

Also - whoever bought rights to this movie probobly did it because of the story that already exists, not because they want someone to write a new one. From what Casey Hudson said - it's going to be an adaptation. And that one word explains it all.

You know, if this film is gonna be about the trilogy's story (which it probably will), then I think it would be best to get as much of the original cast as possible. Anderson and Joker are easy, Sovereign can be done by his original voice actor and Admiral Hackett can have the same (voice) actor as well. Of course someone is gonna complain that we don't get to see Hackett, but would actually be cool and authentic to the game if you ask me.

@Crimmsonwind: true on the cost of animatronics. I also guess that a lot of the expertise has been lost since few studios do it nowadays. But to get Weta in to at least put the actors who portray aliens in latex suits... I think that'd be nice. They're all humanoid, shouldn't be too expensive.

Ok ill make this simple, they will not have shepard or any of the crew members in the film, it's obvious, they what they are doing (doesnt mean to say the film will be any good) and they know what kinda ****storm it would create if people didnt like the shepard etc.



That said i actually don't want them to make this film for the fans, sure have them in mind, stick to the timeline and all that but just make an awesome sci fi movie riding on its current popularity due to avatar and that, give it style and substance and not just an all out action cluster**** because that's not what mass effect is.



Basically a sci fi film that has merit and received well like district 9.
