i'm pretty sure that they are waiting to release any more information on it until either A) We are driven crazy or 2) they have cohesive information to give us, or to give the movie information as a whole. We know what the actors are going to look like, so we know roughly the amount of and what kind of candidates we will have; We know that Wrex is (very much mostlikely) to be all CG, and we know that there is a good chance (because bioware doesn't do anything half assed) that they are seriously considering a CG movie. I say that last one because if they did that, they can get their own artists involved, and have a hand in making it all, making it not just a Legendary Pictures presentation, but a Bioware Presentation, and then they can also get their feet in the door when it comes to movies.
Right now, just wait and see!
Well, the more they consider a full CG movie the better it is.
It's usually the best way to be faithfull to the real story and to portay the character the way they "really" are.

Basically yeah, im in almost complete agreement. The graphics on the last one were great enough that damn, the SOB woulda been a great movie. HOWEVER. The more i think about live action, while it is and will always be a HUGE risk, it can also turn out BAMF.
Stick with CG, stick with safe.
Only if Bioware does it, however; Examples of fails: Dead Space Downfall: while it was regarded as a good movie, i personally thought that the graphics were terrible, it was more of a legit anime than it was game size, and that just turned me off. I'm afraid it will do something like that, and totally ruin itself, b/c us fans have gotten very much used to the high graphics standards

I hope the movie is about Shepard.
Yes, you heard me. I don't care if the the choices that Shepard makes or the sex of Shepard or the love interest is different from your own. What made Mass Effect good was the story. If they deviate from it and focus on the First Contact War, they're walking into unexplored territory, essentially taking a risk.
Just because a movie portrays one of the many "Shepards" out there, it doesn't mean the movie's Shepard is a canonical Shepard. It's pretty selfish to not want any other Shepard besides your own to exist. I personally can't stand Femshep, but I still treat her as if she exists in some "alternate universe", just like every other possible shepard and their choices and combat decisions available in the series. This movie would just be showing another "alternate universe", not forming anything canonical.
There's nothing wrong with it.

I agree, they are taking a risk if they make any other story and, of course, that's why i always talked that they should make it with...well all you know who, cuz he is the default shepard..the default...got it? DEFAULT...is the closest thing we have to an original shepard...im pretty sure that there are a lot of super cool shepards out there and probably some really hot femsheps too
but...ppl, the closest guy we have for a principal role is the default shepard...as all we know that there is a default story...like saving the citadel...keeping ashley alive...selectin anderson and not udina, saving wrex ...it's like the default options
I personally dont like saving ashley for example...but well, u kno
anyone agrees?

Goddamnit! I thought the same about Tom Hardy being Shepard at first, he's a good actor too...
But Rachel Weisz would be a perfect Miranda and I would love Chris Cooper as The Illusive Man.

Cooper would be good, really good in fact but the way the Illusive man talks, walks, presents himself, I can see Alec doing perfectly. I really think Alec should be the number 1 choice. And as for Hardy, same thing. Great Actor that has the look, and the voice prefect for Shepard. Fox, who seems to be the popular choice. I can only see him doing the extreme Paragon version, where as Hardy could and would pull both sides really well.

1. Jennifer Lawrence looks to gentle to play jack
2. think they'll just ask Strahovski to play Miranda
3. why do you need any other actor, when you have Matthew Fox

The movie; I think be better that is CGI or use the game engine insted of live action. Or if it will be live action commander Shepard must be played by Mark Meer who is the voice of Shepard in the game. It wil be also nice than Jennifer Hale also apears in the movie.
My cast for Mass Effect movie if is going to be live action:
John Shepard - Mark Meer
Jeff "Joker" Moreau - Seth Green
Capt. Anderson - Keith David
Kaidan Alenko- Raphael Sbarge
Ambassador Donnel Udina - Bill Ratner
Dr. Chakwas - Carolyn Seymour
? - Jennifer Hale
Illusive Man - Martin Sheen

I am not going to see this movie. Movies based on games are usually bad and more importantly, American movie industry is unable to deliver something good except visual effects most of the times.
I couldn't have said it better myself...
...a little bit better with comicbook films, but game films...holy ****.
Prince of Persia was nice though, at least not as horrible as many.
