Henry Cavill

...could fit the part well, and he has a great lower voice that's commanding. (Make sure to check out his pictures where his head is actually shaved like Shep's though.)

Henry Cavill could actually work, I also agree.  But I still think Matthew Fox should play as Shepard.

That's the best picture I could find of him with shaved hair...although it's a little grown in with this picture.  He could probably pull it off.

Matthew Fox could definitely pull off the look as well.   I am kind of on the fence as to which one I would prefer to be Commander Shepard.

Hmm, Cavill definitely looks like a possibility.

But still no to Matthew Fox, unless you have some sort of time machine and can cast him 15-20 years ago. Or at least transplant his head onto the body of a younger, more athletic actor. Assuming a trilogy of movies, the man is probably going to be over 50 by the time ME3 is made.

guys, remember... LOOKING like the character (for shep especially) to me is not as important as acting skills. while Matt Fox might look the part, to me he is no shep. in fact few actors that have been portrayed here are shepards. i'd rather have a an actor that could fit the role perfectly than having him be the games mirror image...

Why?

He's an Oscar nominee, so he has some acting talent. Plus, with some hair dye, I think he could pull off Shepard, looks-wise.

You guys do realize that this is Bioware's game right? Soon, it will be their film. Look at it this way. You decide what to do as Shepard in the games. Well, this is what Bioware/Legendary Pictures is going to do with their Shepard. Stop whining about "Oh no! Don't make it have Shepard in it! It's about choice blah blah blah". It's their Shepard on this movie. It's their choice.

He is a good actor but i just feel he wouldnt pull it off. And he dosent really look like shepherd even if dyed hair

Not sure about this. I think a movie is a good idea, but it would be difficult to pull off, im looking forward to it whatever happens, if its crap, its crap nothing we can do about it. We will still have the games.

As for who would play who;

Shep - Christian Bale? anyone? i think with a shaved head he could pull it off?

Ash - Mila Kunis?

Anderson - keith david obviously....

Joker - even more obvious...

garrus - CGi i think avatar style and with brandon keener voice acting.

wrex - same thing, CGI and the propper voice actor

err cant be assed to think of anymore ^^^ haha

Honestly, I hope the movie isn't about Shepard. I've seen what movies tend to do to canon characters from books and video games and I'd rather they left Shepard (who could have gone different ways) alone and stick to events the players couldn't change.

Yes because the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies ended up destroying every single character and were terrible films.

O wait....it was the exact opposite.

Sure liberties are taken, but that's part of the process.

I have to say no to this movie. If they base it on the First Contact War or the Quarian Exile or something like that then I'll let it go. But I just don't see a movie based off of Shepard's story. There are just WAY to many variables in the game and someone somewhere is going to get pissed when they make Shepard do something in the film different than how the player did it in the game. Those are my thoughts anyway, doubt I'll change anyones mind.

So they'd ****** off fewer people by butchering continuity to actually change the First Contact War into something interesting?  Because anyone who knows the backstory knows that the FCW was NOT a war and couldn't carry a movie.

And they'd ****** off fewer people in the general audience by having a movie with NO humans?  Name me one film where that's actually been successful.

Why would a fan of the games get upset about the movie portraying Shepard differently when we all know that there are hundreds of interpretations of the character.  By watching someone else play, does it ruin our own playthroughs?  Does watching a Youtube video of someone else's playthrough nullify our own?

Please be reasonable.

I will HATE it if they make it about Shepard... NO ONE will think the Shepard is like their own. should it be a male og female shepard? everyone will just get mad... I've read the Mass Effect books - and a movie about Kahlee Sanders, Anderson and Saren? EPIC I say... EPIC!

you people need to just let it go, Its BW's baby and they will do whatever the hell they like with it. Since technically this is their story and this will be their movie they will use whatever shepard, or storyline, they feel like. Stop thinking about it, stop introducing stupid actor lists, stop hating and start loving the series.

I still think Matthew Fox would fit the role really well, but I also think Henry Cavill could also play the role too.

But whoever they pick for the role i'm sure will be amazing. I have no doubt that the movie will be good.

Matthew Fox is born to play Shepard. I'm a massive fan of Lost, and watching Lost I realised that Fox portrays the leader character with ease, whilst being vulnerable at the same time, in which an audience identifies.

All of this publicity & cash has obviously had a mass idiot effect on Bioware,Drew Karpyshyn & Casey hudson!!! This incomeing cancer on the series known as"The mass effect movie"
is the single worst business move of these regular sellouts carees.Realy!!! If they release
This turkey before or to soon after ME3 it will kill the series and their popularity among true fans entirly (The ones who made them rich & famous in the first place...your welcome from all of us).
I mean Why doesnt Drew Karpyshyn step up & try to save what hes created?????!!!!!!!!!!
Or is he realy that desperate for income right now???(still a great auther though)
As for my fanship i'll be here.....waiting...watching....commenting..I'll be that beacon of
