i hope that it's not just a retelling of mass effect 1 or 2. i'd rather see them explain some of the events that we've heard a lot about but don't know a lot about, like the relay 314 incident, or the skyllian blitz.

and even though i don't think they'd put garrus in a lead role, a movie about his two years on omega would be really freakin' cool

Just saying it now. They are going to make a movie that is about the games. The audience that goes and sees movies is a lot bigger then the ME fanbase. The people will go see the movie and be say oh this is a cool movie, its based off of a video game. I'm going to go get this game now.

Also, Shep will be the Cannon Shep that Bioware created for the Marketing and the cannon settings if you didn't set up your bio for Shep.

All the fans that will say that defeats the purpose of having a choice based game.
I doubt they would spend all the money on a big budget movie to appease maybe (and I mean maybe 10k die hard fans).

J/k! I actually like Meer, I just would like to see a slightly more emotional version of M!Shep in the movie, should it be about Shepard, and I don't see Bale in this role.

I understand that this is a movie going out to a much larger audience than the game fans but on that logic, it's a perfect reason not to base the movie on the games, or at least not on Shepherd. The movie goer that has never played Mass Effect will have no idea that what they see on the screen isn't a direct representation of what happens in the game. In truth as long as Mass Effect is in the movie's title the audience will think "that's based off that video game."

I don't think Bioware would choose to follow Shepherd in a movie because this game was meant to be a deeply personal experience from the start. I fully believe if they make a movie chronicling the First Contact war, show some of the alien species, the world beyond earth, the diversity of the galaxy, the movie will generate enough interest in the world to make people who haven't yet played the game want to play it just to return to that world.

100% approval. A First Contact movie would be amazing. It would give fans of the game new and desired information on the IP, and provide a great starting point for people who haven't played the games to get interested and jump in with some knowledge of the universe. I would love it if the movie was about first contact. Awesomesauce.

Nice ad, and yeah, he looks the part.

though I'd prefer a female Shepard in the movies. I dunno, the games have mark vanderloo as the 'face of mass effect', and you can't get close to his looks with the built-in face editor, but there's no likewise with a female shepard, the default is just an editor combination they decided to use as default. so if anything, I think we fanbase folk would accept any female actor in the role, in contradiction to how picky we're being in who we want for Male Shepard.


And we're all agreed on Seth and Keith for Joker and Anderson. (Though Anderson in the game doesn't look like keith david, who's got, 'a strong jaw' is how I'd describe it.)
