I'm a big fan of Bioware and the Mass Effect franchise and have been since Mass Effect back in 2007 so naturally I was excited when I heard about this, but recently I found out that they have decided to animate the movie instead of getting real actors. This is a really bad idea I mean the Halo movie, the same thing happend to that and what a load that was. If this actually happens I will with out a doubt NOT be watching it and my faith in Bioware and the Mass Effect franchise will be lost!!!!!!!

I hope they have a new story, not retelling the games, books, comics, etc., that is already in existence.

lord i hope your kidding...

I'm with you Dingo.

She doesn't have the full-figured body to pull off Miranda.

Sofia Vergara is the first one that comes to mind...

Katie Price?

I wonder why the person you pick to play Miranda isn't the person she's modeled after.....
Yvonne Strahovski is both the voice actor and character model. In my opinion, it's the perfect choice.

Yvonne is a beautiful woman. But they increased her "assets" when they created Miranda's body model. She's very sexy, but you'd need someone else if you're going for the body proportions..

You've heard of cinematogrophy right? lol  Trust me, they could get Yvonne and still pull of the "enhanced" assets no problem.

I would really like some clarifications here about this Bioware / FUNimation movie project.

Did Legendary Pictures withdrew from the original ME movie project?
Or is it 2 different projects?
Is it an actual movie? Or a animation series for TV? Or an animation movie perhaps?

I've personnaly never heard of FUNimation (but I don't like Japanese animation series in general so it could explain why) so I'm rather apprehensive of this news. The movie simply won't be what I was hoping it would be, sadly. Don't get me wrong, I realize this is only my opinion and I'm sure a lot of people will find this very entertaining.

They made it sound like the anime movie is a sepearte project from the real life actors this one is suppose to be. I thought i read the anime movie was going to be direct to dvd and i doubt legendary pictures would sponser a movie that would not be in theaters. I am pretty sure these are two sepearate projects.

I'm not watching this movie if it's going to be about ME1, why pay for something you already have?

Yes look at how wildly successful the Halo Anime was here in the U.S., I certainly hope this is a separate project, maybe a prologue with the Illusive Man? This has a lot of potential to be a great franchise, and I don't care who you get to voice the animated version, you will lose your target audience if you do just an animated movie. This is a story that can grab people who are not video game fans, it has that ability.

And look who they got playing Emma Frost in X-Men First class. January Jones? She's like a 3rd the cup size that Emma Frost is drawn as. Yvonne would be the perfect choice for Miranda. My second choice for her would be Ali Larter.

Do we really actually know if that halo anime was widely successful? If it was wouldn't there be more announced media in that?

So do we definitively know if there are going to be distinct anime and film products? I would not object to a quality anime production but not at the expense of a film version.

I agree with everyone who does not want anime. This is primarily a North American game. CGI or live action is what is most popular in NA. Anime unfortunately does not fit the Mass Effect universe. A prime example of how bad anime can be when mixed with a north american IP is Halo Legends (No, I'm not bashing Halo, yes I know they tried CGI from 1990's in legends).

i have to agree that an anime might not be what everyone wants but you have to remember that bioware is a buisness and making an animated feature though expensive will not be as much of an investment risk as a live-actuion feature film would be. in all likely hood they are going to release the animated film to test the waters and see how the consumer reaction pans out. if the animated feature sells well, which i'm sure that it will. you get bet that it will push the live action movie into development sooner rather than later. and at the very least show the production companies that a film in the mass effect universe would sell well.

I also vote for Seth Green as Joker. Nice continuity.

They could also get that Chuck girl who played Miranda. Looks like she was patterned on Yvon. Or is that for the Mass Effect 2 movie?

I'd prefer one of those movies with human actors but everything else  is CG.

I think the the main problem wiht a ME movie, is that there are so many diffrent chioces in the games, and a lot of peolpe have made a lot of diffrent choices. I can see people getting disapointet at the Shepard they see in the movie, becasue their Shepard didn't kill the Racni(just to make an example), I personally feel so strongly about some of the decision that I have made in the game, that seeing Shepard doing the exact oposite would feel wrong. I simply do not think it's possible to make a movie that will satisfy all the ME fans out there, becasue some of them will se a Shepard doing stuff they could never imagine Shepard doing, becasue they are used to own shepard.

But for know I'm trying to remain positive, hopefully it'll be a good movie anyway:)
