P.S.: and for Maleshep, Chris O'Donnell wouldn't be a bad choice:

Commander Shepard, a military hero, embarks upon an epic, galaxy-wide journey with his team, to track down and bring infamous Saren Arterius to justice, facing insurmountable odds and lethal enemies along the way.
We already know all that stuff. No original story?? How about something original like a bridge story between ME3 and ME4? Or something from the past like the reapers origin??
Might as well let Uwe Boll direct it

I read that the movie would follow the events of the first game... Anyone know if the movie is still happening?
From what I understand, it's still in the extremely early planning stages so anything could happen. I'd personally give it a 50/50 shot of going anywhere (and I'm rooting against it, tbh).
The fan film Red Sand is still happening though, as a prequel to the first Mass Effect and starring Mark Meer. Because Mark Meer isn't playing Shepard, I approve.

just pray that Michael Bay stays way the hell from this, otherwise he will rename it Explosion Effect and totaly ruin the series, he has already done that to the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, incase no one knows he is making them space aliens insted of mutated tirtles.
he also ruined the transformer series for me by killing Ironhide

He ruined the Transformers series by making those movies at all, one death barely scratches the surface of what is wrong there.
If I get news that Michael Bay even got near the set of this movie, I am not watching it.
PS: Actaully there is only 1 Transformers movie. The other 2 are just the same thing except go after different things.
Transformers 1 - The cube
Transofrmers 2 - Matrix
Transformers 3 - Pillars
Hero runs, villain runs, millitary run...boom..boom..kaboom..surivors walks down in slo-mo while Optimus Prime talks..
-And Fill in the gaps with Shea yelling 'no-no-no-no-no-no' like a boss.
They could have just made some photoshop editng in the Transformers 1 and make 2 and 3.

Got a bad feeling about this. I remember Dungeon Siege (2002)... and the film "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale" (2006).
this movie was directed (and i believe also produced) by Uwe Boll. He his best know for making the worst game-to-movie adaptations of all times. and he don't want to stop.
all his movies are crap yet he somehow is able to fool and cast some high ranked actors (and they quickly learn to never do it again). Kristanna Loken, Jason Statham, Ray Liotta to name a few are all his victims.
so at this point any other director than Uwe Boll gives at least hope for decent movie.

I know that there haven't been any official updates on the progress of
the ME film, but it was initially slated for 2012. I think we know that
isn't going to happen.
The hired screenwriter is Mark
Protosevich, and his claim to fame is that he wrote I Am Legend, which
to be fair wasn't a horrible film, but if you look at the rest of his
body of work you'll see that he isn't exactly batting 1000.
According to Rotten Tomatoes:
http://www.rottentom...rk_protosevich/

I
know that ME3 just ended, and it's a bit early to start thinking about
the next big thing for this franchise, but I thought it would make for
an interesting discussion.
*here's a link to a panel he did with Casey Hudson at Comic-Con in 2011*
I seriously doubt they will let this thing get
to film without some serious analysis of the submitted script. After the debacle
of the ending of ME3 this franchise has had tons of
publicity....negative although it may be.
I can think of a few reasons why we haven't heard more about it yet.
1.
The flac from the EC and ME3 ending made Casey have to prioritize and
the script if finalized has sat on a shelf while they work on fixing the
foundation that they broke.
2. The script came in and it was
God-awful, and even Casey knew it and right now its going through
re-writes or polishing before it's greenlit.
3. Everybody want's
something different from the film. The studio does probably want a big
summer tentpole popcorn flick, but the tone might not be close enough to
the source material for Casey and mor importantly the doctors Ray
Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck (who are also listed as executive producers)
Call me crazy but the Doctors have had a rough year in terms of credibility with SWTOR losing players and the whole ME3 issue.
