Still think the guy that plays Nick Newman in Young & the Restless would be the best fit, as he looks like Shepard (especially when he has his hair almost completely shaved off).

Why only name people that look like the default Shepard? The great thing about Commander Shepard is that he or she can be ANYBODY. If there ever is a movie made, whoever plays Shepard should fit more of a mindset of Shepard than looking like him/her. Just my humble opinion.

I can't wait to see this film, also do you know when the release date? I can't answer your question Kronner, its a male Shepard, I have searched up the information and all I got was that there are making the movie of Mass Effect and that the actor of Shepard is going to be male. Thats what I got from my search, I might be wrong but I prefer a male Shepard. I would also love Martin Sheen as the Illusive Man cause he is the original voice of him, I would like to have more of the original voices of the game characters to star in this film. XD

I'm very curious if this will even involve Shepard and be some kind of prequel. I think it would be interesting and much more easier for them if they showed when humanity first found the Mass Relays and discovered other lifeforms and went to war with turians and all that.. it's a nice start no? I don't want anyone ruining my view of Shepard and the story already told

Kind of scary to think of actually just be sure that whoever wrote the ending to ME3 isnt involved in the movie and you should be fine

Would love to see that movie. And yes i would buy tickets right now.

My only hope is that the actors and artists who gave life to ghe game the universe and it's characters would be the same. As in voice actors as the characters they acted for etc that would be beyond any level of epicness and no matter how good, bad or mediocre it will be the people who played trough the games will love it the same. I know whenever i stumble on a picture from me or see the actual actor behind one of the Mass Effect characters i get all hyped and images from the game start filling my mind and i end up day dreaming.

oh and whatever you do no matter how bad things may appear do not leave this movie in Uwe Boll's hands, no other reason that he is verry tallented in turning great games into horrible movies.

Does that matter?   All TIM does in-game is sit or stand whilst smoking and drinking.  So I think he could manage that at a push.

Would love a movie provided the right storyline and actors' were used.  It would retain authenticity for all us die-hard fan's to retain all the voice actors' but (and don't shoot me down here, from the UK so not sure if the mainly American cast have done any film acting) would that necessarily work. 

I just cringe at the thought of what might happen though...

Wow nice! I always thought they should make a movie, and I just saw this thread. I'm psyched already! It sounds promising as well, considering the people that are working on it. I will definitely watch this one!

It could be good. I'm not optimistic, but I'm not saying I won't watch it yet. I just hope they don't do romances. If they do even the slightest hint of a romance I will hunt down the studio and go all chainsaw massacre on everyone. Just a pity it can't stick to the choice based story like the game does.

I think that the movie will have a lot of quality in it as i am sure that Bioware will go into full detail about the Crew and Shepard. However, because i am a Female and i always play as Female Shepard. Because they announced that the film is only going to be based on Male Shepard, that put me off a little as it did disappoint me

I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I think the quaiity will be amazing. I am worried that the actors (whoever they hire) won't live up to their character. Joker has to be Seth Green and the actors who did the aliens ( Brandon Keener, Steven Barr, Ali Hillis) better be the voices or I will flip a god damn table. I am disappointed that it won't be Femshep. I play as her all the time because Jennifer Hale is a boss. I am also worried because of the choices. How are they gonna do it? Is he gonna be paragon or renegade or a mix? Who will he romance? It's these things that worry me the most.

I've said this many times! Mathew Fox would be great as Shepard. Again he's no stranger of playing a guy named Shepard. They could also and try and get the gal who played Anna-Lucia fromLOST to play Ashley. Allways thought that she would make a great Ash. A bit off topic but you know that G4 is playing all the episodes of LOST in order on Mondays? It's awesome watching the series a second time!
