two reasons i don't like the idea of a movie:
1.
commander shepard is supposed to be a representation of yourself within the me universe, you play through the game, getting to know each character, choosing your LI, getting attached to your mates, choosing the dialog, making choices based on your own character.... and as a femshep i can't relate to a male actor who will most likely not even look like the commander (plus all the characters we know and love will, most likely, look and sound different)
2.
second, to me there are movies and then there are games. same as there are movies and there are books. look what happened to lord of the rings, or harry potter, anyone who first read the books then saw the movies knows what bull they turned out to be, leaving out so many crucial information and characters. and the same will happen to mass effect. i mean, think about it, you have about 30 hours of gameplay, how do you fit that into a two and a half hour movie??
there are more reasons out there, but these are the most important ones to me. maybe the movie will be a success and they will have made a good sci-fi/action film out of it for those who haven't experienced the games as we have
[EDIT]
then again... if this movie wasn't going to be about shepard, but more about expanding the me universe (as someone already mentioned before) then it would be awesome. i would 100% support the film. maybe how the humans first found the mass relay and the first contact war... later with mentions of commander shepard doing this and that. now that would be amazing! PLUS... wouldn't more people be interested in me after seeing the movie, thus willing to buy the games?
