...To be honest, this sounds quite promising. The people lined up to be involved in this project have all done good work in the past. :-)
Unfortunetly they have done some bad things too.
I cross my fingers for this movie.

Just hope it doesn't become a Duke Nukem or a "Chinese Democracy"....

Sounds pretty cool... personally, I hope they make the movie take place
in the "Mass Effect" universe.. with some characters from the game in
the story or part of the story, but iIhope its NOT a film adaptation of
the game itself.
I hope it takes place either before or after
the ME trilogy. I'd rather have an original storyline using the
ME background. and universe than some sort of adaptation from the books or games.
Though the first contact war as a movie would be an epic thing indeed. I want to see Jon Grissom in action!
I wanted to post the same thing.
I ust want to add that the movie might have a plot which goes parralel with the original ME1 plot.
Or, well, 1st Contact War might work as well.

Please please PLEASE stick with the original story of Mass Effect and don't do any dramatic changes! We're trusting you Bioware exec producers to keep this movie true the epicness of the game. Please don't let us down!

The blu-ray will need to allow the viewer to edit the film with deleted scenes based on their choices.
Also just use the graphics from the game. and all the voice actors.
Have Shep be transgendered so no one can complain.
Also Shep should have sex with every character in the film and every character should also die and live. Sure it would be confusing but the fanboys and girls on this website will freak out if it's anything less or more.

Will Drew Karpyshyn be writing the script?
No they're trying to get Mark Protosevich, the writer of I am Legend and Thor.
I never really liked those movies anyway, I really hope they get Mac and Drew to contribute somewhat in this project.

I hope the film ignores the Reapers altogether, in fact, and sticks to the Alliance, the Council and maybe Cerberus.

Review A: "Mass Effect goes beyond what Avatar did for relatable CG characters, setting new standards for science fiction in general and Hollywood alien movies in particular. Games being made into movies finally have a bar!"
Review B: "It sucks."
My money's on B.

You don't like I am Legend or Thor? I wasn't a huge fan of I am Legend but I think I'll reserve judgement on Thor since it dosn't come out until next summer....

Two alternative reviews for this movie when it comes (which it will, knowing Hollywood and their penchant for ruining things for gamers):

Review B: "It sucks."
