I have hopes that with Casey and such onboard it should be quiet good, but I'm not expecting anything mind-boggling yet, I'll need to see trailers and such before I make a prediction, which won't be for along time.

But damnit, Brandon Keener, Liz Sroka, Keith David and Seth Green if it's a film based off the first game, but I'd prefer first-contact war tbh.

I knew it!:DEver since Mass Effect 1 came out,I had a feeling that this would turn into a movie but i hope they don't screw it up by casting unrelated people for the major roles(for example;Megan Fox as Ashley Williams etc.)...assuming the movie is going to revolve around Shep.

Because from my point of view, those events are only there to add depth to Mass Effect's universe. Same goes for the books and comics. But that's just my opinion. So people, instead of screaming 'We want a (fill in your favourite event here) film!!!', start give valid arguments why you would want that.

I can only talk for myself.  I won't go to see a movie about Shepard.  I wouldn't care if they made Shepard a woman or a man.  Doesn't matter.    They gave me Shepard.  I have a vested interest in the Shepard I have made choices for.  I know the story of Shepard.  I made the story of Shepard.  Notice all the I's.  Shepard is mine.  And every person who has played ME has their own Shepard.   Any movie that has Shepard as the main character would invalidate every choice I made in my game.   

If they want to fight the reapers from another vewpoint and just mention Shepard's name somewhere that would not bother me, as much, but having a movie in a different historical setting would certainly be my preference.  Because I don't have a preconceived idea about it.

Frankly with the amount of support for Seth Green for Joker I would be quite surprised if he doesn't get the role. That seems to be the one thing the majority of us can agree on........ I think we should get an Achievement for that.

If any of the current in game chars are in the movie it is my opinion that their voice actor should voice/play them.

all the discussion about who should play Shepard is pointless as it probably wont actually have Shepard at all

Shepard is to individual for each ME player (their background/ fighting style/ appearance)

it would far more sense if they keep away from Shepard completely and do a back/ side story of the games perhaps with known favorites making appearances such as maybe Anderson or even joker

   Ye this is gna be awsome! But i really think that they should keep the actors the same and the voices, e.g. the Dude who plays the Illusive man should actually play him, and so on with Tali and other people.
   I also think it should go from when they discover the Prothean ruins on mars. Right up until the end of Mas effect 3. 

   I also belive that they should make this into a full blown TV series aswell. I think that it would work really well because there is alot going on in Mass Effect and just 1 film cannot cover it all. They should like do 45 min episodes of quests and side quests from the game and new one added in.

   And a very serious point, keep the music the same. Same theme, same normandy theme etc, this would give it a very pleasurable Mass Effect feel to it.

I want it to include zero characters fromt he games.  None.  Do a completely unique storyline.  Martin Sheen as TIM is acceptible, as is Keith David for Anderson.  But absolutely no one from Shepard's crew.

When I read this first I thought today was April 1st...
I hope it will be a great movie. Needs to be a big budget movie to create all the VFX, costumes, starships, alien species, etc.
Oh and: Erica Cerra needs to play Ashley Williams

This is really surprising. Wasn't expecting the franchise to be picked up for a movie.

Yet I will bet $5 it gets canceled like other promising movies.

A Halo movie could have been great with Peter Jackson at the helm, but we know what happened to that.

A Bioshock movie was in the works by some good director IIRC, but that entered the same zone of no return.

What else am I missing?

The Halo movie is still in production at this moment. How do I know? I know  a Bungie employee and they said that it is still in the making and will be out in 2012.
