Don't let all these "fanboys" get to you and to tell you what to do Bioware, do what you think is best as a team to make sure this movie turns out epic and make sure Legendary Pictures as well as Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Avai Arad do the job right. But all I have to say is get the "canon" Shepard in the movie, wont make sense if hes not in it at some point. I don't care if it shows his past or present, just get him in the movie! I dont understand why some people are like " oh im not going to watch the movie because its not my Shepard." Who cares! This is bioware's choice and story! Its up to the producers (Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Avai Arad) and the executive producers (Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuck and Casey Hudson) to get it right! hook line and sinker, Done! End of Story!
When Im saying they should have Shepard in the movie, I mean that they should show some of his past but not have the movie entirely around him. like then showing some of the wars and stuff we did not see in the game. Kind of like showing the Rachni wars, then Sanxi (if thats how you spell it), then the Blitz with Shepard, and some of his military career as well as showing a short side story of some of the crew like Ashly and Kaiden and how Shepard got Kaiden on his team or somthing. That in my opinion will be a good Mass Effect movie.CmdrFenix83 wrote...

The ME trilogy is Shepard's story. His story ends with ME3. This movie won't be out until at *least* 2013 if they ever even finish it. (Where's the WarCraft, Halo, and BioShock movies that were all in production?) Me3 will be done. Not to mention that if it *does* contain Shepard, it cannot involve the Reapers. Just the chase against Saren would be long enough for a trilogy of movies by itself.

Awesome news!!!
Mass Effect truly disserves to be seen on the screen, people who havent played the games sure miss a good story. Mass Effect is like reading a good book in my point view.
And with Hudson & Co with theyre fingers involved makes feel comfortable that this will be a good movie.
Ps. I know you have great music already Bioware, but please Let Hans Zimmer be with you in some of the soundtrack for more epicness! ds.

Christian Bale as Shepard! (add some scruff and shave his head and he looks damn close to default Shepard)

There is also that 2 year period where Shepard was dead. There are plenty of aftermath stories, allusions to the game, whispers of Reapers, TIM as well as other ME1 and ME2 characters making cameos. Hell aside from the incident at Virmire, you could have Kaidan and Ashely as leads trying to hold down the fort after Shepard dies.
There is enough meat to ME to have a story within the game universe without having Shepard though.

Oh god, this is going to be a movie for the 18 yr old male demographic. Once again, females are relegated to 'love interest'. It might make money, it might bomb, either way it'll be mediocre garbage that sullies the ME game series. EPIC FAIL.

I like the idea of focusing on TIM, and involving the Redemption comic series in the movie. Maybe the new book will cover too much of that, though... even so. I'd like to see what happens to everyone when Shep is dead. In detail. Hell, you could even start with Shepard dying. And then, instead of skipping two years... y'know...?
