Oh c'mon, John Van der Shep was definetly badass in the BLUR trailer. And Mark Meer, hell he is freaking iconic for the ME series!

Alas, this statement is true.
While woman can be excellent soldiers, when it comes to the elite of the elite, men have too many advantages.

And OF COURSE (!!!) Seth Green as Joker. He looks exactly like him.
Mass Effect Movie without Seth Green = No Go!

Quite the opposite if you ask me. Mark Meer's voice acting was wooden and made Shepard sound like a numbskull. Meer is the reason I always play as FemShep.
The movie will suck by the way. All movies of games do, and vice versa.

I honestly hope that the movie plot has nothing to do with the Shepard trilogy... that would kill the point of having a choice-based storyline, and attempting to recast the existing characters with look and sound alikes would inevitably be disappointing.
That said, the Mass Effect galaxy is a place with a great many stories to tell, so here's hoping that the writers and producers will craft something fresh.
I agreed to that because everyone who had played any of the ME series knows everyone's story is different. Everyone's Commander Shepard looks different, so pick a person if a male or female (I wish shepard is a female that would be cool.
Anyway we don't want another call from "FOX 40" complaining how this is bad as the game.

I beg to differ. Ghostbusters: The Video Game was awesome, and the Prince of Persia movie looks like it might not suck. The Super Mario Bros. movie really isn't that bad if you can get by the fact it has almost nothing to do with the game it's based on.

Yes, it's a matter of an opinion so I will just quote myself.
I have no problem with Mark Meer's voice. It comes out a bit dull during some scenes, but most of his work sounds natural and his Renegade is totally butt-kicking.
Also, he has became sort of iconic for the Mass Effect series thanks to both haters and fans.
Hale on the other hand is good too, loved her as Jennifer Mui, Mazzy Fentan and Bastila Shan but in ME her voice sounds too forced and exaggerated. People keep saying that there is a lot of emotion in her performance. All I can hear is devoicing the last two or three syllables and very unreal intonation. No curves characteristic for English. She sounds just fine when speaking naturally, why the "butch-woman" then? I keep cringing whenever I hear her Normandy Speech in ME1.
And no I am not a sexist, played all Tomb Raiders and did my first run in Baldur's Gate 2 as a female kensai.
So uh, yeah that was my opinion. No harm done, and hopefully, no pre-defined canon bullhonkey comes out from Bioware.

I belive that it would be important to make sure there is definitely Scientific Explanations in the film of things featured in the codex and even more. By all means, add action in, but make sure it is scientific as well, hence - SCI-FI.
I believe I must stress the importance of Science, Theoretical Physics and Mass Effect science, I believe these to be key aspects to the whole of Mass Effect.
Also I believe it important to allow for a good plot build-up, and especially keep the Mass Effect theme, for every film and TV show, the theme gives it life.

I agree. Mark Meer is Shepard. Male Shepard, anyway. I don't want to see anyone else do his voice.

As it has been sead before please dont base the movie on the RPG! Use the first contact war or one of the bocks as a seting for the movie. If the main story from the games would be used it would screw up the whole ponit of the games. I would like to see a story whit capten Anderson or as staded before the first contact war.

Dude what are you talking about? Video games movies have basically pioneered the modern entertainment industry, with incredible cinematic masterpieces like; Super Mario Bros, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Wing Commander, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Resident Evil, House of the Dead, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Alone in the Dark, Doom, BloodRayne, Silent Hill, Dead or Alive, Postal, Resident Evil: Extinction, Hitman, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Far Cry, Max Payne, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li...
I can keep going but why would I? With examples like that, theres no reason to have a lack of faith! All of these movies have incredible dialogue, character development, and well written storylines, you can tell that the movie studios that bought the rights really cared about franchises. It's not like every single video game movie ever created was a total piece of trash, bringing in horrendously low box office numbers. Because if that were the case, we'd have to be very worried.

I have like 10 from ME1, and have run through at least twice with 6 of them in Mass Effect 2.
If Bioware is the Executive Producers I am sure it will be cool. I find it funny all the people complaining about the fact that the movie cant be made because they view shepard differently than what will be done.
So for all of them:

So for all of them:
Executive Producer is title with little to no power once the project is underway. The ME universe is driven primarily by it's attention to detail, and it's superior writing, neither of which is going into this movie.

I vote for female shepard. Just put jennifer hale in front of the camera and go with it. :3
I think it should be a male Shepard, but if they did choose a female Shepard, i think it should be more of a Kate Beckinsale, or Jessica Biel... I think Hale is a bit too old. I think the voice acters should definately have cameos but some won't be able to hold a staring role that big.
1) I cant see Jessica Biel in a role that says shes going to kick your ass. I couldnt take her seriously in the Blade:Trinity movie.
2) Why do you feel the VAs couldnt hold a staring role?? Or which ones in paticular?
The same reason you can't see biel... biel is an actress who has played tough before, takes care of herself, and her looks, and she has experience ACTING, and it would still be hard. The VA have little or no experience acting, so all they would be doing is reading the lines as themselvf in very monotone voice. If you don't think so, look at movies that have cameos from famus people who are not actors. Look at "something about marry," with brett favre. Fravre has more experience than most about performing/playing in front of thousands, and speaking on live TV. Yet put him on a set were he plays himself... and he sounds nothing like himself, and has no personality. Now this one of America's biggest personalitys, and he sounded completely monotone. Now I am sure there are the few that are good, but the number of bad would be far more than the good.
The VA actors may not have this exact problem, they may be at the other end of the spectrum, and they may overact because they are more accustomed to sitting and talking into a mic, and not full out acting. With few exceptions, it woud be a full out disaster. Just what I think.
Plus it won't happen, Legendary and WB will want some larger names, maybe "huge names" but they will want actors.

Volshock, how many movies have you made? Do you often avoid being an Executive Producer to retain your power? The point is none of us know whats going to happen, none of us knows the details they have worked out in their contract, and no one knows how much creative say anyone has. So stop acting like eat lunch Jerry Bruckheimer, and stick to playing the game, and eventually seeing the movie.

My Votes:
Shep: Dwayne Johnson/Mila Jovovich
Ash: Charlize Theron
Kaiden: Matt Damon
Wrex: Kevin Grevioux
Garrus: Michael Berryman (so little makeup required)
Liara: Kate Beckinsale
Tali: Christina Ricci
I like some of the choices, but your not going to get most of these people to play supporing roles. Kevin Grevioux is a good choice, even if he is not wrex... i think they could use him somewhere in the movie.

I don't need to be an insider of the movie industry to know it's history. Look at this list: http://en.wikipedia...._on_video_games Check out the executive producers for them. Most of them actually have high level game staff as Exec Producers. You are arguing that somehow Bioware will redeem the video-game movie industry, after decades of failure, I don't see anything to support this. Can you name a single Video game movie that you consider to be well done, and worthy of it's franchise? What exactly is going to be different? It's a quick money grab that will flop.
