My bad. But seriously, Liz Sroka is the voice but not the body. I don't think she needs to be a CGI character.GothamLord wrote...

Back to the subject of Liara and about your previous comments that I missed.
The only young actress that I can think of is Dakota Fanning, but shes still too young despite so many years acting. Bonnie Wright, I just dont think she can act :/ She has the innocence and naivity we need for Liara but I'm afraid that I think that is her and not her acting.
I can't think of anyone right now who would play liara for a young star, but what about Tali? Emma Watson would be a good choice for a character like this. She has the intelliegence, charisma, and motion, since she's played Hermione.
Do not misquote me. I never said nor would ever say such a thing. Tali should be voiced by Liz Sroka and no one else. End of story.

Speaking of Tali, I wanted to touch back in basis with Liara. How about Jolene Blaylock? She played a vulcan in Star Trek: Enterprise. T'Pol, I think. Her emotions from that role would fit the profile.
man that would ruin liara for me

As mentioned before Liara needs to ooze youth and innocence. Jolena is 35 now, she'd be almost 40 by the time the movie would come out.

All they need to do is CGI the legs/hands. Liz can wear the suit with the mask and do the voice work.

My hopes are that this movie does involve a period before ME1 and 2, or between the two. This would create a great platform for new fans of the universe to explore the game for perhaps the first time, while still allowing the majority of original players the sense that 'their' universe and decisions... the stand out feature of a great RPG.....have not been violated.
Bioware and Hollywood have a hard task ahead. My optimism lies in the fact that the 'novel to movie' and 'movie to game' shoddy productions of history are effectively being turned on their head. My pessimism lies in the fact that Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia were shadows of the original concepts.
Fingers crossed.
Bioware, if anyone can produce a 'true to form' spinoff, it is you guys. PLEASE DONT CUT CORNERS!
Good Luck. Out.

Wait a sec - what about Emma Watson as Liara?...or would that not work either?![]()
I love Emma Watson to almost a unhealthy level for a man of my age. I dont know if I would see Liara as *innocent and naive* with Emma in the role but I would damn near go broke buying Liara related products at that point.

Most of the voice actors are actual actors. Their voice, intonation, are already perfect for most of the roles.
Liz Stroyka for Tali should be a given, as her face is never seen. An actrobatic extra is going to be needed with an exceptionally thin waist and heavy leg costumes to play the visual role. Hollywood does this in their sleep.
Considering the sheer popularity of the character Tali, and the fabulous voice acting, it would be a MASSIVE betrayal of the fans to not use her. She deserve the role after such a brilliant performance to date. Bioware, give credit where credit is due and make sure Hollywood doesn't sell her out.
The same can be said of Garus. Same voice actor, pupeteer extra in the costume.
Same again for Wrex.
Liara is an interesting one. It needs to be the actual actor. Given her experience to date, someone like Zoe Saldana (Avatar), Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale in costume would all fit the build and face of the character.
Chief Williams could be played by almost any actor, as could Kaiden Alenko. Neither of these characters seemed to produce much weight of emotion in the first game. Ryan Reynolds might make a good Alenko.
It's an interesting process that they will need to go through.

I hope it is better than other game to movie films...
Yea, most of the game to movie transfers didn't go so well. Besides the Hitman which I actually thought was a BA movie.
On the other hand, all the movie to game transfers absolutely sucks. I have not played a videogame that is near as good as the movie it's based on. AVATAR was good movie, but game sucked, Iron Man 1 and 2 were good movies too, but look at the videogames...full of crap, Terminator Salvation was awesome, but the game was weak.
